Archer House

 

     Week 27?  Time sure does fly!  Wait until you see all the updates that the Archers have to get us started.   They sure are busy for a household with only one person working.  Allow me to reintroduce you to the residents.

     We'll have some tears this week, some laughter.  Cheers and growth.  The Archer family line is a bit smaller than the other two main families and I feel I don't spend as much time with them, so please excuse me for taking the slow, scenic route through their week.

MONDAY

Monday started out fairly low-key.  I even had time to do some updates in the house upstairs, namely putting in better doors and hanging diplomas up on the walls.  

Zakki and her family (Isaac and Rocco) visited.  Zyler is determined to be the master of Lady so he took the time to teach her the command "Come".   As you can see, Lady has a long way to go!

The Sims inside the house had a much more heart-pounding evening.  The neighborhood founder, Zane, is on the loose.  Ghosts unfortunately don't know their great-great-granddaughter when they see them!

Zane had a busy night...

And he's WAY too excited to be out haunting.  That's an evil grin if I ever saw one!

It was about this time that I just had one of the Sims tell everyone goodbye.  I learned not too long ago that telling everyone goodbye sends the ghosts back to their graves and tombstones.

TUESDAY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The fitness enthusiasts go for a run together every morning.  Great father-daughter bonding, and better them than me!  

Acapella (formerly Toots's dog) finally reached her elder years.  She's a good dog and it makes me sad to see her getting older.

 

Zoey and Frazier were visiting, which was not unintentional.  Master Amin Riley is here to do his first home inspection for Generation 5!  Zoey and Frazier are suave Fortune Sims so I'm hoping they'll be helpful with the schmoozing.  

Let's see how he likes Zavoy's ribs cooked out on the grill.

Zachariah!!  This is NOT THE TIME.  I swear, if he scares the headmaster I'll kick his grave myself.  

Get out of the kitchen!  Seriously, this ghost is toying with my emotions!

They knocked it out of the park!  Of course, they get accepted.  I don't know why I was so stressed.  This is the LEGACY HOUSE.  It would be embarrassing for them to not get into the private school.  

... Almost as embarrassing as the gossip would be if Zachariah had spooked him.  

Don't be too quick to thank him for behaving though.  He got Laken while she was in the bathroom.  Personally, me?  I'd have trust issues sitting on a toilet for a long time after this.

WEDNESDAY

Zack's lifespan bar is FULL.  I get the household prepared for goodbyes and visiting family.  Which involved washing the dogs. Lady hasn't learned to behave in the tub yet and escaped.

Young pups, man.

But 6pm rolls around and Zack is still with us.  Just a pop-up saying that Zyler will grow up tomorrow.

I had the whole Archer family over and everything.  I was READY.

Grim was not though, I guess.  Probably drank too much on Grim Island and forgot.

Ugh!  Zane!  You'll get your grandson tomorrow!  Don't even try to scare him to death tonight.

THURSDAY

This is going to be bad

I have so many emotions right now.  I'm so glad that Zack gets to see all of his grandkids age up to teenagers (Zaryn, Rocco, and now Zyler) but this is just bittersweet.

Does anyone remember Zyler's toddler birthday?  The one where Toots died?  His birthdays are not good luck.

He's a teenager!  And he just gets cuter as he ages too!  

This is when the chaos starts.  

Zack...

is there something you want to tell us?

Zack doesn't have to say anything!  WINIFRED'S FACE SAYS IT ALL!  

Grim is coming!!!

*** WE INTERRUPT THIS DEATH WITH A POP UP TO CHOOSE AN ASPIRATION ***

Zyler rolled family.  FAMILY!  We haven't had a family sim in this house in generations!

Three generations of romancers, and that tradition to be broken by a Family Sim!

Zyler's LifeTimeWant is to have 6 grandchildren.

*** WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR SCHEDULED DEATH BY OLD AGE ***

I always feel like the Sim developers should have added the Jaws theme to Grim's arrival.  

You think he'll cut the cake with the scythe?  Would anyone eat a slice if he did?  I sure as heck wouldn't.

And that's right, Zack.  You need plenty of pictures to take with you to Grim Islands.  Keep these precious memories of your descendants sobbing over you in the afterlife.

Then we have Zyler... He has priorities and they don't involve Death.  

Zack looks so happy and excited.  For a romancer, he really did love his wife.  So I'm telling myself he can't wait to see Toots again and hear her play the piano while he paints beautiful pictures of the afterlife islands.

Zack was the Generation 3 Legacy heir.  He married Toots Savoy and had two children, Zakki Wolosenko (Isaac) and Zavoy Archer (Laken).  Together they had 3 grandchildren, Zaryn Archer, Zyler Archer, and Rocco Wolosenko.  

His sister Zoey Lind (Frazier) and nephew Walter (Julie) also survive him.

Zack was a local artist and has his paintings hanging in several homes in Legacy Cove.

Besides his beloved wife, he is also preceded in death by his parents and several beloved schnoodles.

And like a ghost... he's gone.







Well, not really.  These damn ghosts don't ever leave. 

Oof, that's a lot of red tombstones.

Well, at least Wendolyn waited until after Grim left to dig into the cake.  Unlike Zyler who went inside with his slice. 

Boys do deal with their emotions differently though, I suppose.

Zack's life insurance policy should soothe some of the tears.  For everyone else, there's always puppies and kittens.

Meanwhile.. 

Here's Zyler!  I usually don't like the long hair on the guys but he looks adorable!  I think it also fits his teenage tinkerer vibe.  Zack also had long hair, though his was tied back.  

All in all, I thought the change to his hair was a win!

FRIDAY

I wanted to start Zavoy's community project earlier in the week, but I decided to wait until after Zack's passing.

Kind of give them some new memories to push back the sad ones.

So welcome to Legacy Cove's Community Pool!

Oooooh!!!

Aaawhhhh!

There's even a smaller indoor pool for inclement weather and the cold seasons!

To be honest, when I decided to try this I had no idea if indoor pools could be done.  It was smooth sailing, no cheats required!

There's a jacuzzi area on the other side with a bar and some seating. 

Also a jukebox for some alternative entertainment for those that don't want to swim.

And of course the bathrooms are accessible from the inside and outdoors.  So no one better be peeing in my pools!

After the construction was complete, Zavoy went back home and gathered up his kids and nephew Rocco (Fridays are for cousins afterall!) and off they went to test the pool.  

Unfortunately, they all preferred the hot tub.  Along with Kylie Tumbler and Renee Centowski.  Rocco didn't get in quick enough.

I guess it was a good thing they didn't wear themselves out swimming.  Amaris finally poked her ghosty body out of her tombstone.

That's enough, Amaris! 

I should send everyone home now..

... Um, after Rocco is done cleaning the dog mess in the yard.

Rocco beat Zinc 2.0 to the cleanup, too!  He does seem to clean up after the pets an awful lot.  He does know that his parents already said he can keep Lyric, right? 

Oh, he's done.  EVERYONE GO HOME!

SATURDAY

Along with going jogging every morning with her dad, Zaryn puts time in on the ballet barres when she can.  Her LifeTimeWant is to be a World Class Ballerina and she's putting in the work to make it.  

Sidenote, before Zack died I had him gift Zaryn the deed to Antoinette's Ballet Studio downtown.  She seemed best suited to inherit that. 

Yvonne and Laken are pretty good friends, thanks to their mutual science hobby interests.  She was even here last night, uninvited, and they hung out in the hot tub.

So why she is trying to steal their newspaper this morning, I don't even know.

ZAP!  Don't try it again, Yvonne!

Laken doesn't really care if she's still employed or not, so I took a swing at a chance card.  And wow!  $36k!  

The community pool cost almost $100k to build.  While they don't need this money, it is a nice little bump back up in their bank account.  Laken is currently the only one working & SOMEONE has got to pay for that private school tuition.

SUNDAY

I thought this week since it's the summertime that I would show off the backyards at each house.

Unfortunately, the Archers have a HUGE backyard but not much in it.

Well, I changed that.  Even though there's no small kids, there's now a play area.  Adults like to swing, too!

And even with all the romancers past and current in the house, I don't mean THAT kind of swing!  

No pineapples, just a swingset. 

Zane and Amaris rest inside, but Zachariah, Antoinette, Toots, and Zack are in a small graveyard.  It does need more work but I'll get there. 

The hot tub setup has been here for a while now, but I probably don't share enough pictures of it.  It's a cozy little nook behind the garage.  Secluded for the romancers that want to be naughty.

I added a picnic table between here and the back deck, but the stone fencing is hiding it.

     Well, Sim fans, that's the end of summer for the Archer family!  We've got a whole summer ahead of us with the other families, but next week in the fall Zaryn will be leaving us to go to Uni!  I'm not ready!  

     I didn't share the pictures, but Zaryn did have a few male visitors over with the help of the crystal ball (A CC download).  Only two lightning bolts with each young gentleman, Gareth Indie and my nephew Lucian John.  Maybe she'll find a more electrifying connection with someone in university, but perhaps next week she can get a first kiss out of the way with one of these two before she moves on.
