A New Chapter
I've always wondered what causes people to start new blogs. I've been wanting to try blogging again but I get hung up on the thought of, "Nothing REALLY special happened today. What makes today the beginning of a new thing?". I have a lot of things I'd like to say and share. But why TODAY?
Being stuck in the loop of life where in the big picture today is the same as yesterday and tomorrow will be the same as today, I haven't found the right starting point to launching a new blog. To suddenly fling myself out into the world of blogging and potentially gathering followers that don't know where I've been or where I'm going seemed extremely time consuming! I didn't have time to catch the world up on what brought me to the point of "Hello, today you are meeting me but I'm totally new to you". The majority of people are skeptical of the concept of "new". How therefore do I just start in the middle of this crazy life and make people like me enough to try to make a blog successful?
This week though I have some life-changing events approaching and to me this suddenly seems like the perfect time to start a blog! I'm on the cusp of starting a new chapter to my world and anyone who cares to read and follow my blog is welcome to join me.
I'll be moving in this coming week back to my hometown of Huntington, WV. I've been living just outside Charlotte NC since 2003. I'm selling my house, leaving my dead-end job, and going back to a crazy, drama-filled family. For the past 9 years since I split with my ex, my daughter and I have been on our own. We've lived a quiet introverted existence with school and work being our major social, energy-sucking circles. Social interactions are taxing for us. We're going to need a lot of patience to learn to adapt back into a large family setting!
On top of taking you along with me on my adventure of returning to my hillbilly roots, I'm also hoping to share my jewelry crafting business here with updates on projects I'm working on and finished items. I also am looking forward to a platform to share my thoughts about events I follow in the news, and though this post is a bit serious and dry, I want to flaunt my sense of humor here and flaunt it immodestly. There may also be some book reviews and opinions on shows and movies.
I hereby give the disclaimer that this is going to be a blog that will be way over a PG-13 rating. I am often times rated R for violent and sexual themes. No topic is sacred to me. If you are easily offended, this isn't going to be the place for you. I roll with the punches though and can take the hits as fast as I can dish them out! This blog also won't be a place for any close-minded individuals. Knowledge is power and I love to learn as much as I can on any topic that graces my path.
So this wraps up my introductory post. I'm really looking forward to engaging viewers and sharing little snips of my life with the internet world. Welcome to Carissa's corner of the world!
Best,
Carissa
