TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 24 - Archer House

TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 24

Archer House

It's fall, ya'll!!!  Week 24 is here and it's going to be a busy one.  There's weddings, birthdays, hopefully babies arriving, and still more graduations to come.   So let's buckle up and get this show on the road.

Our first stop is at our core Legacy house.  Home to 3rd generation Zack and his wife Toots (Savoy), his newlywed G4 son Zavoy and wife Laken (Dallas), and 4 schnoodles, Amos, Amma, Acapella, and Pixel.

Zack Archer
Romance - Sagittarius - Arts & Crafts

Toots (Savoy) Archer

Zavoy Archer
Romance - Gemini - Fitness

Laken (Dallas) Archer

Amos

Amma

Acapella

Pixel

Of the four dogs, Toots is the owner of Amos and Acapella (she inherited Amos after Zachariah and Antoinette died), Zack owns Amma, and Pixel is Zavoy's pup.  I know 'owns' is not the PC term but that's how the game defines it.  That's also how I divy up dog chores like bathing and walking.

Zack and Toots don't have standard jobs.  Zack is an artist and is often seen painting.  Toots owns the Legacy bar but due to our in-game pandemic, she didn't open it up this week.  Zavoy wants to be a professional whoo-hoo'er but that's not happening.  He doesn't really NEED a job as they have $200k sitting in their bank account.  Laken though wants to be a Rock God so she's getting started in the Music career track.  She's off to a good start!

Promotions are the only good way to spend a Monday at work!  Way to go, Laken!

She's also getting very chummy with her sister-in-law, Zakki.  Both like the color pink and they are so matchy that it's amusing to me.

Zakki has a strong resemblance to her grandmother Antoinette.  Who I was hoping I wouldn't have to introduce to everyone again, but here she is anyway....

Yay... so glad you could join us... thanks for introducing yourself to Zinc 2.0.  Not sure if this was stated previously, but the original Zinc was not the most helpful bot.  Thus.... Zinc 2.0.   This robot is a little better at cleaning, repairing, yardwork... but he's not the best on social skills.  More on that to come.

I sent Zavoy and Laken upstairs for some "quiet time".  Oddly, they weren't quiet at all.  There were fireworks, for Pete's sake.

Then there was music and while you'd expect something like Barry Manilow, no.  It was a lullaby.  Just the strangest thing..  Whatever floats their boat though, right?

Downstairs, no one was having much fun.  Zakki and Isaac were still visiting and Antoinette has picked a new victim.

"Wait, why is the fridge door open?"

You should just leave now, Isaac.  Just run.  Nothing good will come of this.  Why does this remind me of a scene from Ghostbusters?  When there's something bad in your refrigerator ... who you gonna call?

Did I, or did I not tell him he should run?  Instead he's singing songs about refrigerators and phone calls.   Antoinette didn't like that.  FEAR HER, ISAAC!  SHE CAN NOT BE APPEASED!

Then, outside on the deck, Wright only knows what happened.  There's nothing in their memories to explain this.

At least they didn't break up, a few hugs and a kiss later and things were right as rain again.  Guys, let's just call it a day and hope Tuesday is kinder to us.

Indeed, Tuesday was looking up!  Laken got another promotion and then another surprise!

That hair though... Yowzers.  While we get her fixed up, keep an eye on our sentry bot please.  It's locked on a new target.  Honestly, there's so much going on here.

I'm so sorry, but excuse me??  Did you say ZAKKI was stealing our newspaper?  ZAKKI that grew up here in this very house and can come by and borrow the paper whenever she wants?  Well.  I just can't even.

Oh good, and Zachariah is on the loose now, too.

Let's just move on to Wednesday.  It's bright and early.  6:30.  The paper isn't even here yet.  But something is advancing a bit quickly...

Okay, so we got pregnant Monday night.... Overnight I installed a new mod for extended family to recognize each other.... 3pm Tuesday, Laken gets her first bump.... 6:30am Wednesday she gets her 2nd bump.... I shrugged off the first bump because of the mod and the Sims all did the reset where I load up and they are standing beside their beds.  But this is again 15 hours between first bump and second.... I reread the mod, there's nothing about speeding up pregnancy!

I'll roll along with it for now but I want my suspicious noted for the record.  And add Yvonne to the suspicious list.  Why is she stealing our paper!?  She has her own paper at home!  Why walk all the way over here ....

I always said something wasn't right with her, ever since she looked like a little baby demon.  She's grown on me as she's also grown into her looks but I'll be keeping an eye on this one again!

Laken is a very easy pregnant Sim, it makes it easier for me to monitor the troublemakers outside.  Just let her sleep a lot and she stays green and happy.

But then, 10:30pm on Wednesday..... ITS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!

GENERATION 5 IS ARRIVING!!!

Toots!  Help!  It's been a while since a baby was born!  I'm not sure I can assist Laken all by myself!  And Zack is no help at all!

10:32 on Wednesday night is also where I realized Toots is loosing her hearing.  "What, did you say something to m... OH MY WRIGHT, SHE'S HAVING A BABY!"

I want you to just imagine a moment, my face as Toots realizes someone's giving birth right behind her.  Imagine my sigh.

IMAGINE NOW THE EXCITEMENT AS BABY ARCHER IS HERE!!!

Should I call one of the doctors, Fletcher or Yardley, to come help Toots?  Laken and baby seem fine but now Toots is making me worried.  She's going to have heart failure or something.  Breathe!  Breathe!

Ya'll, in a house full of Romance sims, this is a beautiful sight.  Our first generation 5 baby is wanted and going to be so well loved!

     Her name is Zaryn.

Toots recovered well, by the way.  She's got the cuddling part down pat.

Within the first 24 hours though, I realized something different about baby Zaryn.  She hardly sleeps!  She's awake, all the time!  I'm trying to keep someone up with her but usually when you put them back down in the crib after some cuddles and playtime and a bottle, they doze right off.  Not Zaryn.  She's awake.

At least she has Laken's pretty eyes!  Stay awake all you want, baby girl.  Those eyes make me so happy.  But, in the back of my mind, I wonder how the toddler years are going to go if the kid still hardly ever sleeps.

Out in the yard, I notice all of the dogs congregating around our mailman.  Unlike most of the other dogs, they all get their pets and then try to follow him down the sidewalk!  We do have some good well-behaved schnoodles here.

Later though.... Antoinette is back.  She's really happy her bed is still here though, so maybe she'll behave tonight.

Outside, I thought everyone was safe but then here's Zakki thinking about her brother and stacks of money..... She better not be thinking about life insurance or kidnapping our Zaryn!

I better check on that kid.

Egads!  Is her husband in on it?  I like Isaac!  He gets along great with his mother-in-law, our matron Toots.  Both like music & dance and get along great.  He adores his wife.  He's chummy with his brother-in-law Zavoy and cousin Walter.   But if he takes one move outdoors with that baby.....

Okay, maybe I need to calm down.  He's just feeding his niece.  Everything's okay.  Uncle Isaac, what a great new title for him.  Ironically, Isaac was not one of my favorites back in the old Legacyville neighborhood.  Just goes to show me what the right relationship will do for a Sim.

But Isaac and Toots have played that piano until it broke.  Not to mention Laken who has been working on her creativity for her Music career.  Zinc 2.0 tried to fix it but failed.  Just walked away.  Zavoy stepped up, and successfully!  He's turning into an A+ Sim too.  He's super quick to go pick up the baby and take care of her.

Antoinette meanwhile is wreaking havoc on the household while my back is turned...

That is your SON, Antoinette!  Maybe she misses him?  And wants him to join her in the afterlife?  Excuse me, ma'am, but you can't have him yet.  He's BUSY.

He's got a grandkid now to tuck in and spoil.  Zack was the first one to autonomously attend to the new baby.  At least one of them can get this kid to go to sleep!   And when he's not attending to his first grandchild he's making sure Toots is feeling loved and adored.

They are both proving to be great grandparents.  I really couldn't be more delighted with this household and their utter devotion to the new addition.

I even suspect that Zaryn might be Zack's new muse.  He's getting all kinds of creative ideas for his next project, I'm sure.

Recently, he just finished up Laken's portrait to be framed alongside Zavoy's.

The next day brought more and more newspaper thieves.  Do you know how far on the outskirts of the town this is?   They are at a dead-end street.  Why come all the way here for a newspaper?   Sheesh.

Isaac!  YOU BETTER HAVE BEEN COMING FOR THE NEWSPAPER AND NOT TO STEAL OUR BABY!   Hopefully, Zaryn is giving you and Zakki baby fever in your house so she can have a cousin to play with.

That evening... the ghosts got a little out of control.  Zane has now come out to play as well.  At least Laken was smart enough to put the baby back in the crib before freaking out.

Well, the first time she did.  The 2nd time, the baby ended up on the FLOOR.  ZANE!  THAT IS ENOUGH.  E-N-O-U-G-H!

Zachariah, not you too!  That's your own grandson!

If you, like the Archers, struggle with ghosts then here's a bit of advice I learned not long ago.  If you have multiple guests over, tell them goodbye to everyone.  The ghosts will go back to their holes as well as the guests leaving.  It's a lifesaver.  Seriously.

The next day, I took additional measures.  The game was kind enough to bring on a cold fall rain to set the right tone.

Yes, mourn them Zack!  Mourn them real good!  Did you know you can even have the dogs mourn the graves as well!  This seemed to help a bit.

We need it a little more calm around here because it's party time!

I'm so happy that the Archer descendants are clear of the germs going around Legacy Cove and we had them all over for the birthday celebration!

We have a toddler!  They grow up so quickly!  A toddler that had a bursting bladder!  Toots was quick on the draw.

      Look at that face again.

"I'm not the diaper-changing kind of grandma."  I don't blame you, Toots.  And looking back, only Laken and Zavoy changed the diapers through infancy.  You're slick, Toots.

Zavoy, Zack, and Toots all spun up wants immediately to teach Zaryn new skills.  Have I mentioned this is a household of Romancers and a Pop sim?   I'm so thrilled with how they've stepped up to being parents and grandparents!  Zavoy was quick to start teaching Zaryn how to walk.

We might have to break up this party early though because the uninvited guests are crashing in.  They better steer clear of our baby.

Baby Zaryn is a gemini like her father and somehow already flagged for the Fitness hobby.  But while her dad is very serious, Zaryn is a lot playful.  She's 4 messy, 10 outgoing, 10 active, 8 playful, and 3 grouchy.  I'm pretty sure there's no rugs in the house, but I should probably double check and remove any.

Unfortunately, I never realized that Fletcher was so high in the outgoing points.  Excuse me a minute, I need to find Zoey and have her collect her husband.

Hopefully he doesn't teach Zaryn any new ideas about that.  But I have a feeling that university and the hot tub is going to be just wild with this lil gal.

It's just a whole evening of "we can't have anything nice" because remember the bridge I said we'd cross when we got to it?   Zinc 2.0 and his lack of social niceties?  Well, well, well, if we haven't reached that bridge.

I expected more from Isaac.  Poor Amma is too old to be trying to get involved in the fight.  I didn't see who won, if the boys want to fight outside then who am I to stop it.  They were done and had moved on by the time Laken came home from work though!

A Sunday night promotion is better than the Monday promotion!  Start that next week of work on the right foot higher on the ladder!  Great job, Laken!

Did you guys notice anyone missing?  A certain Sim that is famous for her graveyards and yard littered with tombstones?

With Antoinette, Zachariah, and Zane... I kept telling myself, "At least it's not Amaris."   She couldn't stay away though.  She's heeeeeeerreeeeeee....

At least Zaryn is happy.  Toots taught her a nursery rhyme and she's just happy as a lark sitting in the kitchen floor singing to herself.

I've never seen a ghost scare a toddler but I have a feeling that if it's possible, Amaris will find the way.   So I guess now is a great time to say goodbye to everyone, send the dueling robot, Isaac, and the ghosts all back to where they came from and let this family try to get some sleep.   Try.  Because there's a toddler on the loose now.

Thank you for reading!   See you next at the Panda den!

TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 23 - On Campus

 TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 23 -

On Campus

Welcome back to the University campus!  There's some future remodeling being thought out because 8 students stretched out the bathroom set-up.  But for now, I'm powering through it because, holy crap, trying to do anything with 8 students is rough.  There are 5 Juniors from the main neighborhood, plus Vamaris who is our latest freshman.  And two townies have joined the household.

Let me just cut to the chase and introduce you.

Shawn Panda
Knowledge - Sagittarius - Nature nut
2-3-10-10-10

Treva Centowski
Knowledge - Taurus - Gamer geek
8-7-8-10-1

Vincent Lind
Family - Libra - Fitness

Yvonne Panda
Family - Virgo - Science
10-1-7-7-2

Vamaris Lind
Fortune - Taurus - Gamer geek
6-8-5-10-5

Brandon Deppiesse
Fortune - Sagittarius - Sports fan
7-2-10-9-7

Renee Spitzig
Family - Aquarius - Nature nut
4-4-4-7-6

So, with so much going on in every corner of my screen and outside, I tend to not get a lot of pictures.  Most of the days are fairly routine though.  Sims get up, hit the showers, hit the books, and then work on finding that special someone and exploring their hobbies after.

Yvonne has a couple of 3-bolters in her panel.  Brandon is one.  Marsh Mellon (below) is another.  And Brayden Pepper.   Brayden is my real-life 'adopt-a-kid', hence the same last name as my Sim.  Anyway, of the seniors the girls, Yvonne and Treva, are the ones unsettled on their future husbands.

I started with Yvonne because I figured if we could settle on a guy then with 3-bolts of attraction, they'd take care of the rest while I turned my focus on Treva.   Treva has no 3-bolters.  But Yvonne is not interested.  She wants to look through the telescope all day.  "Girl, if you could get knocked up by the aliens, we'd talk.  But I need you to FOCUS over here on these 3 boys.  No, do not talk to your cousin.  Do not hit your cousin's girlfriend with a pillow.  YVONNE!!!"

     Deep soul-hugging sigh.

Meanwhile, I have chaos happening elsewhere.  Anytime I try to focus on just one Sim, and especially if I send any off the lot on hikes or jogs to try to ease the what-the-hell-are-ya'll-doing moments, they find a way to thwart me.  Some Sims bring back treasures or see birds on their hikes.  These kids.....

I should have been counting each time Shawn led the nature nuts through poison ivy.  Like, find another trail Shawn.  Maybe just stay ON a trail.  You can prevent this.  Look at your girlfriend.  LOOK AT HER.  SHE IS RED.  Also, Noelle is henceforth to be known for sensitive skin.  Even in the original Legacyville 'hood, she was constantly red from sunburn or blue from freezing.  She's delicate.  It's canon going forward.

Frustrated with their lack of cooperating with anything I was trying to achieve aside from the grades (they all have excellent grades!), I gave Renee a clothing make-over.  I realized as she kept changing clothes from every day to work out to pajamas that she had no consistent color.  So she's a purple girl now.  Her original everyday outfit was pink but there's a lot of that smothering the neighborhood already in regards to Generation 4.  (Zakki, Isaac, Laken...)

Okay, so let's just walk away from Yvonne and the nature nuts.  I better check on the rest of the house.  Shawn and Noelle are moving things along just fine on their own.  Shawn and Uri were in a love triangle with Renee in their first two years of Uni but I pushed her to choose.  Uri was her pic.  Luckily Noelle is also a 3-bolt gal for Shawn so the triangle drama has subsided.

I don't know what they did, but they managed lovey hearts all on their own.  These two are nice and tidy for that, and I thank them.  If only their nature hikes were as neatly wrapped up.  Bees, man.  Bees and poison ivy.  They know where to find them.

Vincent is likely going to propose someday to Ceera.  Ceera is one of my EQ2 gaming friends, and her youngest kids Laiyya and Nighno are loose in the main hood as child townies.  It always pleases me for the parent to marry in first, so I give Vincent full approval to proceed.

Vincent looks sulky and like he might have an attitude most of the time, but he is really just the MOST easy-going guy.  There's never any drama.  He smiles so easily when I want to get pics of him.  And he's just adorable.  I want only great things for him!   But... his lifetime dream is to raise 20 puppies and kittens.  Let's be honest, the pets are already overpopulated and that's probably just not going to happen.  ANYTHING ELSE you want, Vincent... anything else will get serious consideration.

Meanwhile.... I've been inviting Marsh and Brayden over every day and Yvonne does not care.  She DOES NOT CARE.  Brayden is instead straight up flirting with the cheerleader.

She had her first kiss as a teenager and we've used the crystal ball to look for eligible males so her preferences are set.  She's just really not interested.

Then, just like that, they are Seniors.  Half of our time is gone and so little work has been done!

And of course, Vammy is now a Sophomore.  Somehow, Renee is a semester ahead.  I must have moved her in early last week.

With the way the couples are acting, you'd think it's springtime.  But it's fall with winter closing in quick!

I think I'm going to have to ban Katelynn the cheerleader from the lot.  Yeah, it's cute that she's cheering as these two make out without any intervention from me on either party but she's getting on my damn nerves.  I kick her out and she just comes back a few hours later.

I was trying to set up a special moment when Shawn and Noelle started making out.  So I had to get the next two lovebirds set back up.  Treva has been quietly interviewing her 2-bolters but I think she's made her choice.

This is Soupy Stephens.  He presents a bit of a conundrum for me.  He is also one of my EQ2 gamer friends.  His ex-girlfriend Morrdredd is ALSO an EQ2 gamer friend.  Yes, the same Morrdredd that married Xavian.  At the time I created the characters, they were a happy couple in real life.  Now.... not so much.  I would have preferred it if they were married into different generations.  But no.  Treva and Xavian are cousins.  They've probably forgotten they are in my Sims game, so we'll just keep this on the down-low.  Priority is Xavian and Treva, so I just gotta remember that.

Must have been some doozy of a kiss.  He keeps thinking about it!  You go, Treva!  Knock it out of the park!

Meanwhile....... Vammy had two very different guys with 3-bolts.  I unfortunately did not get a picture of Percival, but he is a quiet, nerdy, blonde and bearded fellow.  The other is Caden.

Caden is one of the early CAS guys I created to fix the gender imbalance in Legacy Cove's early days.  All those Twinkie ladies needed some men to mingle with, so one was created for each aspiration.  I'm pretty sure Caden is Mr Popularity.  (His last name is Chauncellor.)  He's very affable and I'm pretty sure that's how he won the battle for Vamaris's affections.

Her brother Vincent is also doing quite well on his own with Ceera.

Vincent likes to congratulate the other Sims.  If you noticed when they graduated their Junior year, he turned to Treva and congratulated her on graduating.  He also congratulated Ceera on falling in love.  With him.

There's also a lot going on in the background.  The showers break pretty much every day.  Total of 4 showers and 8 kids, so each shower gets used at least twice a day.  They are cheap showers anyway, but Chris Leelaporn pretty much has an appointment here every day.  Between the showers, the dishwasher, the trash compactor... these kids can break a lot.  I teleport the servos in but the showers are their kryptonite.

I could tell the kids to repair it but.... They have generations of scholarships at their disposal here (there's always been a uni townie holding their residence building for them even when there's no active students.  Scholarship money, semester grants, etc.... these kids have more money at their fingertips than most of their households back in the Cove do!  So I've got no problem throwing it away on the repair lady.

Just.... Chris has a unique method of repairing things.  I mean, it seems to be working for her... but maybe hitting things with the wrenches and yelling is why she has to keep coming back?

And then... Suddenly.... BOOM!  We have five graduates!

And two Juniors will remain to finish up their educations; Vamaris and Renee.

Wait, Yvonne and Shawn make 2.   Vincent and Treva make 4.  Uri makes 5.  Vammy and Renee make 7.   We're missing someone.

That's because... Surprise!  Brandon was also a freshman but he's worked an accelerated track (thanks to the handy dandy college adjuster) to graduate as a Senior early!

I'm sure you are wondering.... "But, why?"  Why have Brandon do all those term papers and extra assignments and constantly bottom out his fun meter to graduate early?

     Brandon is making moves.

Yvonne had THREE suitors.   Marsh, Brayden, and BRANDON!   He's been quietly working his little pixelated booty off to graduate on time with Yvonne!  And I think her eyes are wide open and paying attention now!

The song lyrics, "Your kiss, your kiss, is on my list.  Because your kiss is on my list" has been stuck in my head this whole time.  Treva, Soupy, and Brandon all celebrated their first kisses.  There's been a lot of lip action from the others that took care of that in their teen years, too!

But not to say that they haven't forgotten their families or cousins right there beside them either.  Uri and Treva are still BFF's!  Everyone dutifully calls back home to check in with their other families also.

Usually there's family nights too, but there's a plague back home that our SIX graduates are going back to.  It took a whole day to properly cure their Uni house so we just kept the families away.

So it's time to break up THIS happy home and send them back on to the Cove to rejoin their former happy homes!

It's time to say goodbye to Shawn, Treva, Uri, Vincent, Yvonne, and of course, Brandon.   Spin it up, guys!  (PS - I love the music and hip wiggle they do as young adults going into the adult stage!)

.... I've got a lot of work ahead of me with those outfits.  Yikes.  I better go get started on this clean-up, I see a full night in the dressing rooms ahead of me!  And ya'll better start laying out your dresses for the weddings and shopping for the baby showers!  Yup, generation 5 will so be a reality!

Thanks for reading!
