TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week Six in the Cove

The Sims 2

Week Six in the Cove

Are ya'll ready to party!?  You know we start off every week with a celebration of some sort.  That's how we throw down in the Archer house.  Seriously, next generation can only have, like, two kids max.  This is out of control.

Sorry Miss Zayna, step right up to the cake, make your wish, do a little twirl, and let's get your teen on!  Sorry for rushing you kid, but it's a price you pay for being the youngest.

Zayna teened up into a knowledge sim.  Confession; I rolled the dice twice and got romance, pretended that didn't happen and rolled again only to get family.  There's room for only one romancer in this family and Zachariah has dibs on that.  And I just can't handle another family sim.  Zamaris has dibs on that one.  So little miss "I like science as my hobby" was assigned knowledge.

She's pretty cute, of course, because this family is bursting with good genes.  I was not 100% sold on the glasses at first because I'm in L-O-V-E with their custom green eyes but they are growing one me.  She knows how to work 'em.  You go, girl!

Let me interrupt this weekly update with a note.  It's important to me that my sims learn from their mistakes and the mistakes of others.  Here we see that Polly is capable of playing fetch with the schnoodles WITHOUT ENDANGERING THEM.  See how she throws the stick through the yard and NOT INTO THE STREET?  Well done, Polly.  Well done.  You get a gold star.

The new popularity sim finally made his way down to the Archer's little side street.  This is Caden Chaunceller.  He's the last of the male townies I made to help balance out the gender ratios in Legacy Cove.  Caden is named for the Carr family from my old 'hood.  The names were both given names of sims in that house.  The new Caden here is quite charming.  He's schmoozing his way into everyone's friendship panels.

Anyway, back to the important stuff.  THREE TEENAGERS IN ONE HOUSE?  Hole. Lee.  Shet.  It only lasted for two days though.  Zachariah quietly went off to university one morning after the girls went to school.  Zane had also gone to work and so the stupid locked want he had for Zach to go to college didn't get filled.  What's up with that?

I moved Antoinette Mellon into the dorm with him, and also another teen that hasn't debuted yet in my blog.  Think any of you can guess who this little lady is?  The only hint I have to give you is that she doesn't look anything like the originally uploaded sim-self provided but then again, she no longer looks like that original sim-self in real life either!  Her makeover reflects more on how she looks these days.

While you think on who this chick is, I also got mad at the dormitories because instead of the same ol' dormies from Zane's college days moving in to take the spare rooms, the stupid game started creating new ones.  Aw, hail no!  So I built a new residence hall and gave Zachariah, Antoinette, and Cassie (did you guess correctly?) enough simoleans to move into the private "dorm".

And immediately, Zach and Antoinette fell in love.  Didn't expect that to happen so quickly but hey, I'll take it.  They didn't even step away from the mailbox first.  It'll make me very happy indeed for these two to live happily ever after.

Back in the main house.... Zane finally... FINALLY... was promoted to Education Minister.  We really struggled getting those last few friends necessary for the promotion.  The whole family had to pull together and get 'er done.  But HALLELUJAH!

Zamaris has been waiting for her first kiss and when her dad finally quit celebrating on the front lawn, she caught her crush Eagle Centowski and laid it on him.

After that, she wanted to become BFF's with him.  Once that was fulfilled, she had no further interest in him.  They have no attraction so I'll have to find her a new match.  Maybe Rob Panda... he's a family thing too..  Oh, and have I mentioned Zamaris has the Lifetime Want to marry off 6 children?  I can't even talk to her when she's like this!

About this point in the week, my nephew Chase came by the house (real nephew, real house) and as he is also a Simmer, he wanted to check out my game.  I showed him around my house, introduced him to my family, and we checked out my new pet store.  Then the inevitable.  He wanted to be in my game too.  He's a cute kid, I can't say no!  Meet Chase Bearhunter.

He's still in grade school IRL but we thought it would be more fun to make him as a teen in the game.  He's a popularity sim which fits him perfectly.  Of course, the game won't let me unleash a teen into the world without an adult to be responsible for him so we also made my sister Teressa.

Those of you that are on my personal facebook page may have seen the directions Chase gave me for making my sister.  "Slant her eyebrows down real far like she's mad.  She's always mad about something!".  Then, "Make her an elder!  Hahahah".  Son, I am older than your mom!  Watch it there!  Then he wanted to make her fat, and I AM FATTER THAN YOUR MOM SO STEP CAREFULLY ON YOUR NEXT REQUEST!!  He also wanted her to have a bigger mouth since she is always using it, his words, but I nixed that.  He got his eyebrows.

So after adding them to the townie pool, the next thing to do was to load up the Archer house and pop the new sims into the lot so he could watch them in action.  I also popped in my own simself.  Everything looks to be accurate so far.

"Is everything okay here?"   Yes Zane... but stand back please at a safe and reasonable distance.  I'll try to keep things under control.

The Archers definitely had a full house that night!  Between my real life family being brought onto the lot and the other passers-by that we greeted (Makayla included!), there was standing room only at dinner time.  Whew.  We're getting too old for these get-togethers.

Since the house just isn't full enough, even though Zachariah is off at college now and Zamaris is a few days away, I decided its time to bring on the puppies.  Because everything in this house is a fertile Myrtle, it only took one try.  No going back!

As the weekend rolled around, Zamaris spent a good bit of her time in the garage working on the old car.  She did the engine and body all by herself then started on the paint job.

Holy cow, when I decided to paint it green I had no idea it was going to be NEON green!  Dang, Zamaris!  But congrats, you just completed your own future college graduation gift!  Yaaaay!

I also finally got around to finishing off their deck now that they've built their cash back up.  Look at those stairs!  They have handrails and everything!  And the deck is enclosed so no one can fall off and break a bone!  We are soooo moving up in the world now!  One day we'll get around to landscaping.

Hey.  Did you think we were done with birthdays?  Because we're not.  Zane's birthday actually snuck up on me.  I was so busy with sending Zach to college, with making puppies and cars... that..... well, this happened:

He's still handsome as an elder and I haven't located a grey version of his hair yet (in the game at least, I haven't bothered to go hunt it down on the great wide interwebz), but I did find a slightly lighter blonde version.  Ta-da!

And as a birthday gift, I finally got around to upgrading his and Amaris's bedroom.  This may have been more of a gift to Amaris than Zane.  So what!  I'll buy him a grill or something later.  I did have Amaris bake a cake for him though so the birthday wasn't a total letdown for him.  Cake makes everything better, amirite?

Speaking of gifts, I hadn't loaded up Zach's inventory before he went off to college since I anticipated dorm living.  So I had Zane give him a bed.  Not sure how that packaging works out, but there's a bed in there!

I did much better on Sunday when it was Amaris's turn to have a birthday spin.  We had a cake.  I got a last picture of her before she became elder-fied.  Look at me, I got my sh*t together here!

Zayna also found her own crush as cake time rolled up.  Do any of you remember Trevor Centowski from my old 'hood?  Adorable lil' guy, got the long Centowski nose, and he has ZERO outgoing points?  How Zayna got him to interact enough to become best friends and to be her crush is beyond me.  Usually the kid runs from everyone.  So I'm impressed!  Zayna must be serious about this!

So back to Amaris doing her spin.  Let me just show you the outfit that the game threw her into.  I almost left her in this.  But the hair... ugh!  How did it change to black?

I decided that we can do better and a full make-over was required.  I'm pretty happy with the results.  I wanted a hair that's wavy and curly like Amaris's real hair but I found a hair style that suited her face better.  Let me present to you the new Mrs Amaris Wiccan Archer.  Dem boots!!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go hop back over to the university and get Zachariah settled in.

TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week Five, And Everyone Is Still Alive

The Sims 2

Week Five, And Everyone Is Still Alive

I am itching to play again but I'm trying to balance work and play.  I also won't let myself get lost in my sims again until I have the prior week documented so everything is fairly fresh in my mind still.  Time to sit down, focus, and blog it up.

We are going to open up the week with... as always... a birthday.  But we are finally out of the toddler days and moving on to the big kid stuff!  Let's toss that lil' Zayna up and do this!

Note:  this picture is the only one I have of the whole family together.  Isn't it so sweet though.  This family is really going to give me a toothache.

Zayna somehow had already flagged science as her hobby.  This is super exciting to me as she is only the second born-in-game sim that has had science as their hobby!  Holy astronauts, batman!  Her stats are 10 (neat) - 6 (outgoing) - 5 (active) - 4 (serious) - and 6 (nice).  So glad all these kids are nice.  I mean, I LIKE the evil snowmen in the winter.  But not all the other naughty things some of the grumpy sims do.

Oh, right.  You want to see pictures of the kid.  Here she is, and her spartan room.

I also have some sickening pictures of the sisters hugging.  This family likes each other.  It's so weird.  Not like real families at all!

Ah... this interruption is brought to you by my sim-self, Carissa Pepper, and Zayna's ant farm.  Can we pretend I am not this weird?  I mean, I am.  But we are pretending.  I don't think I've ever bought a sim the ant farm before so all of these faces being made are totally new to me.

It wouldn't be the Archer family if we didn't have some back-to-back birthdays, so Tuesday rolls around and Zamaris takes a turn at blowing out the candles.  Make a wish!!  I hope she's wishing for some more friends her age.  So hard to have all of these adults around all the time, I'm sure!

You may be wondering who that blonde guy is on the left.  Who are we kidding, you didn't even pay attention!!!  But as I outlined in a previous blog, one of the problems I face with having two daughters to marry off into the world is the low selection of male suitors.  Let me introduce you to the five new guys in town.

The first gentleman is Rob Panda, who is our newest Twink.  I did a horrible job creating a sim for him as he's lacking sufficient pictures of facebook for me to stalk.  But he has blonde hair and blue eyes and is a family sim so I think I got the important stuff right.

The gentleman in the black shirt is Arturo Ashe.  He's a romancer.  And sexy.  Next up, the red head is fortune sim Chase Banque (thank you Gandy for the name).  And the other blonde guy is the new knowledge sim, Nicholas Newton.

Where was I...?  OH!  Zamaris's birthday!  So Zamaris is a family sim also, she wants to marry off 6 kids (WHY!  I mean... WHY!!!!!!???).  I think by now she's had sufficient time to pick out an outfit and doll herself up in the mirror so let's check on her.

Yup, still cute.  You like how she has on a plaid shirt just like her daddy?  That's right.  She's a daddy's girl for sure.  But she's a tinkerer like her brother.  So when the weekend rolls around, I'll let the two older kids work out whether they want a car to repair or a train table.

So the next day that I was playing my daughter comes home from school and talks to me as we watched Julie Jaz playing fetch with Astro.  She asked me if I was worried about Astro getting hit by a car.  I turned my back to the screen and said to her, "Not really.  I mean, first of all, they live on a dead end street.  There's not really any traffic other than foot traffic.  They don't even have a maid or gardener.  And secondly, they are the only family so there's not a lot of traffic in general in the neighborhood."

She says to me, "This conversation is so weird."  WHATEVER!  Then, before I could retort, she tells me, "There's the bus."  Wh... *swivel* ... WHAT!  NO!  ASTRO!  I squealed like a girl!

At this point, my daughter cackled and left me alone to save Astro.  BRAT!  Julie kept playing fetch with the dog and I couldn't cancel it out!  NO!  OUR PUPPY!  Do you know what happened?  DO YOU?  The bus eventually faded out.  It couldn't exit the lot normally.  So after some long moments of horror, it just disappeared.  If you think I've been overreacting, remember this is AMARIS in my family.  Stranger things COULD HAPPEN.  We are death-free up to this point.  I don't know how long I can keep all these sims alive!

Okay.  Whew.  Moving on.  The other thing going on this week is a bit of a love triangle.  Zachariah has crushed and finally fallen in loooooove with Raven Lawson.  But then he turned his eyes on Antoinette Mellon.  So far he is just stalking her.. but his want panel speaks for itself.  I have used his situation to explain to my daughter why teenage boys are not to be trusted.

In a bitter sweet turn of events, the girls are becoming friends... I can't decide if I want Zach's dirty two-timing dreams to be discovered or if I'm with him on praying he can juggle two girls if things move forward with Antoinette.  Sigh.

Once the weekend rolled around, the kids spent some cash.  Zach went to the brand new pet store to buy Astro a collar in case he tries to run off when Zach goes to college in a few days.  Zamaris went along for the ride.. and she got a little something for herself.

Why not, right?  I like how the dog gets to ride in the front seat with Zach.  Already showing Zamaris who's boss.  Her name is Anabelle, and since we are done having more kids in this generation and the house will start to empty out with kids going off to college, I thought some puppies will be fun.  Turns out that Astro is a schnoodle.  Schnoodle puppies ought to be fun.  Just say it.  Schnoodle.  How can we NOT want to do this?

Also.. THIS HAPPENED AS THE KIDS CAME HOME:

ARE THEY TRYING TO KILL ASTRO OR WHAT?  QUIT PLAYING FETCH ON THE STREET!  The point has been proven!  The street is not safe!

I also want to show everyone the clerks working at the pet store.  I'm pretty sure they are sisters.  But... yikes!

The kids decided on getting the fixer-upper car.  I think when it's ready, we'll give it to Zamaris to take to her new house after she graduates college.  Right now though... it needs some work.  *cough*

Some other things happened before the weekend was over.  I sighed, and allowed them.  Zach had some VERY specific wants.  That involved a specific blonde girl.  He's going to Sim State in a few days.  We can handle this for 5 days right?  Just 5 more days.

They look good together, don't they?  Now, as long as both girls aren't on the lot at the same time...

That's right, Amaris.  Keep washing the windows.  Mind your business!  He's got to make these mistakes now while he's young and stupid.
