Uni - Archer House

     It's been a while since we've seen the University campus, but we're back.  Generation 5 is starting us off with four students;  Zaryn Archer, Xyla Centowski, Winifred Lind, and Rocco Wolosenko.  Luckily for me, these four kids... erm, excuse me, YOUNG ADULTS, all strike me as "over-achievers" so they should be the perfect group for me to get warmed back up on the Uni way of life.  

     Overall, the name of the game is to get in generations so for a lot of these Sims I'm not only trying to get them to achieve their scholarly goals and allow them to let loose a bit, but also to nail down a significant other.  So when their feet hit the ground back in Legacy Cove they'll be ready to start thinking about generation 6!  

     They get 2 play-throughs in uni (Freshman/Sophmore year, then next time their Junior/Senior year) so it's not a total mad rush.  And especially since grades are easy to keep up as long as they go to class and do their assignment daily, it means they do have a lot of downtime to mingle with their housemates, work on hobbies, or whatever else these lil' Sims and I feel moved to do.  

     All that said... Uni is kind of boring in a story-telling way so hopefully this will move pretty quick and we'll be back in Legacy Cove rounding up the next batch of kids to send over here.  Speaking of... Next week I'll finally have to build another residential house to fit them all.  So enjoy the solo Uni update this time, next time it'll come in twos.  Oof!  

     PS - there's two 'townies' that i was playing over here in Uni on and off to grow them up from teens to adults.  I've mentioned it before but I don't expect anyone to remember all the misc ins-and-outs of my game, but all those Gen 8 kids from the old neighborhood are slowly grown up to help keep a healthy dating pool open.  Currently, it's Ryan and Rainey Lawson.  Twins in the old 'hood, but I've removed the sibling link here.  Luckily they haven't made me regret it, haha.  They are a bit further along in the semesters though.  

     Okay, enough chit chat.  Let me make the introductions to our current University class.

These college kids have no chill.  Or they have a lot of chill.  

Either way.  They have a PENGUIN.  In the HOUSE.  

Not even a full 24-hours here and I'm already going to have to sit them all down for a talk.  

Better.  Thank you for setting a good example, Ryan and Rainey.

And they all did settle down.  Xyla and Rocco already declared their majors on the first day, and Winifred declared hers the next day.

Zaryn finally settled on a major on Day 3, but here Rainey comes with some drama.  

Rainey had a little crush thing going on with Prof. Blazej Bradshaw but I brought in Nicholas Newton to see how the brainiacs Xyla and Winifred liked him... well, Rainey liked him a lot.

Prof. Blazej did not like this at ALL.

Oh, Rainey.

Here comes the professor.  Look at that face of dismay and shock!

What?  No!  That's not how ghosting works!  

I tried to keep both of these guys around but long story short.. they can not be on the lot at the same time!  

These Sims may be at the age for drama, but not me.  I'm too old for this.  GOODBYE, BOYS!

I'm also slow in my old age...

Didn't get to tell them goodbye fast enough before Rainey got slapped.  Oops.

Gweneth (townie visitor) and Zaryn are doing an excellent job of pretending not to watch.

Such chaos.  

Rainey getting slapped, Nicholas is so excited to be in love that he doesn't even notice.  

And Chase Banks (townie) and Rocco just talking about wizards n' stuff, totally oblivious.  

Sims, man.  Sims.

I invite over random townies and NPCs every day to mingle with the household.  Forever on the search for the perfect spouse.

But the daily monotony and sooo much free time here got me a little restless.  So some of the townies/NPCs got some makeovers.

Can you even believe this is the same guy?   

This is Leo Shaikh, our animal control officer.  Who even knew he was so attractive under that mop of hair?  

Unfortunately, none of the girls seem to have much interest in him.  I should just introduce him to my own Sim-self and see what happens, hehe.

Now, honestly.. I thought stereotypical knowledge guy Nicholas Newton would be a top runner for Xyla and Winifred.  But no, two lightning bolts only.

Winifred doesn't have any 3-bolters, but Nicholas is still not high on her list.

Meanwhile, Xyla has met my internet so Brayden Pepper.  He's her 3-bolter, and she's obsessed.

Another makeover

This is Jay something-or-other.  He's a uni townie.  Not too bad looking, but I think there's still some room for improvement.

Viola!

The right hairstyle really makes or breaks some of these Sims.

Again, unfortunately, the girls aren't really giving Jay any attention.

Oh, dear.

Winifred and Nicholas have developed a crush.  LUCKILY, Rainey is at class so I can send him home.  We can revisit this situation after Rainey graduates.  

Plus, there's still a lot of fish in our dating pool so maybe Winifred will find her a 3-bolt kind of love.

Another makeover?

Honestly.. I spruced up a LOT of townies/NPCs.  I didn't even take pictures of them all.

And a second "honestly" .. I can't even remember this guy's name.

The short hair was fine, but the buzzcut had to go.

Roger maybe?  I think his name is Roger.

If anyone thought, "Oh, hey, that Roger guy looks cute and I'd like to get to know him" then maybe I'd remember his name.  But again.. no interest.  Sheesh

Great job, ladies! 

Zaryn and Xyla both made the Dean's List!

But as I said, as long as they go to class and do an assignement daily (or a term paper), the grades are a breeze.  Especially since the Gen 5 kids came with high enough skills to not have to work on that stuff.

Two more for the Dean's List!  Congratulations to Winifred and Rocco as well!  Your parents are all going to be so proud.  

With Brayden not around the next day, Xyla remembered that she likes getting good grades and doing school stuff.

So she wanted to write her term paper.

Who am I to tell a knowledge girl no?

Winifred also knocked hers out.  

With the term paper done, they don't have to worry about the daily assignments anymore for the semester.  

Ryan and Lisa Gillen are "THIS CLOSE" to flirting, but neither wants to make the first move.  Ryan hasn't spun up any wants either, so I don't push it.

I'd kinda like him and Rainey to have a first kiss and what not, but they'll be sent back to the townie pool when they graduate so if they don't want to be romantic with anyone it's no big deal at all.

I was going to use the college adjust to speed up Ryan and Rainey's semesters to get them graduated and out of the house.  

But Rainey, as our only current artist, has been assigned an important task.  Each bedroom has portraits of the Sims that bunked there previously.  So Rainey is working on getting everyone's portraits added to their rooms.

AND still maintaining her A+ grades?

I don't remember Rainey being this good of a student back in her old neighborhood.  I'm glad she's excelling now in college!

Every morning, Winifred wakes up, makes her bed, then does her ballet exercises.

Zaryn wants to be a World-Class Ballerina so she also does some ballet warm-ups but her time is split between ballet and working out.  Ballet may build body skill but it doesn't count towards her fitness hobby.

One of the bedrooms has a violin, and of course Winifred wouldn't max her hobby with her daily ballet.  She picks up the violin one time, and boom.

No matter how you achieved it, congrats Winifred!  She's put a lot of time into her music and dance hobby.

Meanwhile, Rainey has finished her first portrait.  Rocco's picture is hung up alongside Yardley Panda, Walter Lind, and Vincent Lind.  

When all of the walls are full, I have no idea what I'll do... maybe I'll have to make a museum?  

And outside, Xyla is flirting with Brayden.

I think she's trying to lock him down!  Winifred has two bolts with Brayden but that's no competition when it comes to these 3-bolt attractions.

I'm not even sure how Rocco got enough enthusiasm to get access to the music lot.  

I'm guessing its from dancing to the radio.  I think sometimes about deleting that thing, but there's constantly wants being spun up to dance with someone.  

Look at that face, how do I tell him no!?

You might be wondering about Zaryn's love life.  Let me tell you, prior to playing these kids at Uni, I had hoped Zaryn would love Chase Banks here, marry him, have one cute kid, and live happily ever after.

But I'm pretty sure Chase just lost Zaryn in a game of pool.

Oh, hold on.

Yes, yes, yes.  A+ grades.  Dean's List.

Now excuse me girls, I'm trying to talk about how my dreams of Zaryn's future were shattered.

See, Zaryn only has 2 bolts for Chase.  And when sorting by attraction, he's kinda low in a list of 2-bolters.  At first, some of the others were unavailable Sims (already married in Legacy Cove).

But this blonde guy here is ranking higher.

And I'm devastated.

Because it's Percival freaking Jacquet.

Yes, THAT Percival.

The one that was party to Vamaris Chauncellor "cheating" on her husband Caden.

I'm still miffed at that mess.  But Zaryn thinks he's the bees knees.  Ugh.

Yes, kids, great job.

Don't forget to call home and tell your parents.

I'm brooding right now, please go play quietly.

Rainey is at least making great progress on the portraits.  

Even if she's currently a "townie", I like that she's leaving an imprint on the house.  Someday she might be married to one of the playables and her kids will see her name at the bottom of the portraits!  (well not literally.  You can see the artist when in inventory mode.)

I had Winifred scope the 'room' and I guess Ryan is hot.

But she makes no effort to seek him out nor does she roll up any wants for him.

We'll keep looking, kiddo.  There's someone out there for you and we'll find 'em.

And I've maybe found my peace with Percival and Zaryn.  Yes, THIS is the guy Zaryn seems to want.  Two bolts, but she's still stalking him everywhere.  

But I realized, back in Legacyville Percival was born into the P-house (obviously).  Zaryn will be founding the P-house here in Legacy Cove.  

I like coincidences like this.  So even if Percival has big fat lips (which is why I put a beard on him.  Had to cover up his pouty lips).  Even if he had a questionable interaction with Vama.  Even if he's not as handsome as Chase.  Girl, if this is what you want.. I'll quit fighting it.  

(But I WILL keep my eyes open and keep looking!)

Meanwhile...

Rocco, I need you to quit distracting Ryan.  He's writing his term paper.

Rocco just went down the other 3 computers and shut them down one-by-one.

Weirdo.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Right when Winifred scopes the room and thinks, "hmm, hey, Prof Blazej is hot!", that's when Rainey has to flirt with him and fall in love?

Why do these two have to have the same interest in guys??  Rainey better paint fast, I need her out of the way before the drama kicks off!

Okay, but maybe I do need to lay off the slave work on the portraits because she didn't make the Dean's List this time.

Ryan and Rainey do NOT have a lot of skills so having to skill, do assignments, go to class, write term papers, etc etc, is maybe a bit much for Rainey.

I'll pay more attention to your grades this next semester, my bad!

Oops, I also didn't notice Rocco was using the telescope.

Spying on Cassie?  She was probably on a hike.  But she's mad.  Big mad.  

I had Rocco run away and someone else dismiss her from the lot!  

Stay away from the telescope, dummy!

Another congrats to Zaryn and Xyla on continuing to stay on the Dean's List.

Never doubted you ladies for a second!

So I don't play with the genie a lot.  But I had the thought that I could have Ryan wish for money and put it in his inventory for the day when he might marry into the neighborhood.  

Pleasantly surprised that you can indeed put these bags in their inventory!  

I figure these grade updates are good milestones to keep track of how far along we are.

Three semesters down and one more to go, then we're back to the main 'hood.

Xyla actually wanted to write her term paper last semester, but her grades were already pretty much maxed.  

So I locked it and waited till she was done with the final exam.  

If you are going to put the time and effort into that, Xyla, you should make sure it counts!  

Well done, Rainey!  Back on track!

Congrats to Ryan as well!

Since our time here is about to wrap up, I went ahead and let Zaryn flirt with Percival.  

One hand-holding is all it took, and they're in love now.

I'm still Team Chase Banks but you can't tell these Sims nuthin'.

Oh, snap.

I forgot Zaryn is full points in outgoing.  Anthony Pressto does not look impressed.  Maybe because in real-life he likes guys.

Ah, here we are.  Fourth semester is coming to an end.  And so is our time here for now, and so is this blog.

Dean's List again, amazing consistency you two!

And congratulations again to Winifred and Rocco.

There's at least 9 teens back home ready to move to college and join you guys.  Possibly 2 more.

Whew.  Nine is a lot.  Plus the four already here.  Plus possibly 2 more (birthdays are right on the line)

     So back to Legacy Cove I go.  And though it's spring and warming up here in the real world, winter is just getting started over there!  

     Hopefully none of them bring a penguin into the house!
