TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 25
3 Bamboo Blvd
The Panda's week started off ROUGH. Specifically for my side of the screen. It was a crazy rollercoaster of curse words then delight and all in-between. So let me just get this update moving because this is two weeks in a row this household has just worn me out!
So here we go, our residents Yardley & Kayla along with their son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Noelle.
Let me just start off with Monday. I load in, check on everyone's Wants panel, check the dog and it's food situation, just kind of poke around the Sims' panels and the house until I feel settled. Then... Go! So Monday's are busy. Getting reacquainted with their work schedules, everyone gets a dose of elixer, I get everyone's portrait pics for the introduction. Busy busy busy! So much happening! And I can't remember when Noelle was due to have her baby so I'm hitting the batman box to 'Rerandomize Sim Generator'. I keep saving in anticipation for BABY TIME!!!!
Only. Baby time doesn't come. No new bump. No baby. I pause. I tap my fingers on the desk. Think, think, think. I heave a sigh. I exit without saving, even though I've saved about a dozen times. I load up SimPE.
Noelle is flagged for mid and full pregnancy. Well, that's not good. It's getting late, so I walk away for the night.
After sleeping on my problem, I go to my backup that I save at the end of each week and move it back over to the main hood. I go back into SimPE and unflag Noelle for the full pregnancy (had to look up my last update and saw I mentioned she was due to have a baby Tuesday evening). Reload the game.
Monday again! Busy busy busy!! At least I saved the portrait/intro pictures so that's out of the way. Monday rolls on over to Tuesday and still no baby bump or baby. I haven't saved this time, so exit without saving. Reload. Use moveobjects to delete Noelle. Reload. This did not fix her.
I've already been searching the depths of the internet as help for TS2 brings up a lot of TS3 and TS4 pages. But I see some people have had success with moving their stuck pregnant Sim out of the house. So I move Noelle out. Shawn is home and this upsets him. Save, go to the neighborhood, and I try first just moving her back into the house. This did not fix her.
I move her out again, this time I put her on a lot with their servo. She did not go into labor or get her last baby bump on that lot. So I doubtfully save and go back to the family lot. And move her back in. Still, this did not fix her.
These Sims are making me really upset now. I close the game and reopen SimPE. Yup, the pregnancy flags haven't glitched again.
Reload the game yet again. Go back to their lot. Boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, spawn the tombstone of L&D, and speed up the pregnancy. Still. No baby.
Turn the testingcheatsenabled on again, and Force Error. Nothing.
I sigh. I am silently cursing the Sim gods. I have no more ideas.
"SHOO-FLEAAA!"
I look up. FORCE ERROR WORKED! She's having the baby!!! I've typed enough, here's the pictures.
Oh. OH MY! Oh, she was worth the wait! Shayla Panda was born on Tuesday evening at 11:31pm. Her name was picked out ahead of her arrival to honor her grandmother Kayla. And she didn't get dad & granddad's blue eyes, or momma's recessive browns. She got Kayla's golden amber eyes.
I. Am. Smitten!!!!! I saved the game so quick.
I think everyone is a bit smitten with little Shayla! Except Aunt Yvette... where the heck did she go?
Well... Okay. But there was no outing yesterday. Does she mean the wedding last week? We may never know. Townie Chase Bank keeps calling too and asking for Shawn. If he happens to get Shawn on the phone (I was nice the first time but subsequent calls I've told him where to go and how to get there) he says he had a great time on their outing and does he want to go out again?
As I've said before... This household is exhausting. They've become... GLITCHY. (*GAAAAAASP*)
Moving on...
Grandma Kayla was happy to have some time with the baby so Noelle could take care of some personal things.
I think that's our first snowman this whole winter. For each lot having the season through the whole week, we've not had much snow. Just not what you'd expect a new mom to be doing hours after giving birth.
I sent Noelle off to take a shower and get some sleep. Kayla is usually up later so she was fine staying up until Shawn got up. Then he finally got his own bonding time with Shayla!
Luckily their overlapping schedules worked out so everyone was rested up for the birthday party the next day! What? Already! Ha, no. It's time for Kayla to look more like a stereotypical grandma!
Yvette got to the baby first, though all the extended family over for the birthday party were eager to meet her.
And now... Cake!
So... Kayla's make-up did not age well with her. I won't be sharing another picture until after she's cleaned up, for her sake! So while she's changing and getting all pretty, I want to make a comment on these two.
Vamaris Lind and Caden Chauncellor. These two absolutely delight me. Especially Caden. He's so... exuberant! He has a great time at all these family functions and is always one of the first to start celebrating. But he never ignores Vama. I predict these two are going to be so fun to play and I can't wait to start their household! They are such happy Sims!
Just a heads-up, but we'll be having another birthday tomorrow!
Now! I present to you, our newest elder Mrs Kayla Panda!
She's definitely not going to let old age slow her down with the grandkids. Or the grandpups! Shawn adopted the last of Yamaris's litter. Welcome Fleur!
And I did say "grandkids" as in plural, right?
Gotta try for a boy to carry on the family name! Maybe this time with dad's blue eyes. But first.... Party time again!
Ta-Da! Shayla is now a toddler! Her stats blew me away, I hope you are all sitting down. This is a household of Nature and Arts & Crafts hobbyists. Being sloppy is a main characteristic of both. Miss Shayla is a Scorpio and her stats are 10 neat! - 7 outgoing - 10 active - 7 playful - 1 grouchy.
The highest neat/messy stat out of the adults is Kayla and Noelle with 4 points. And the lowest nice/grouchy stat is Yardley with 7. Please note; Kayla, Shawn, and Noelle are all max nice. Well, Shayla is apparently here to shake things up.
Whew. The party finally ended and Friday rolled on over into the weekend. Saturday brought us baby bumps and bees.
A pop-up let me know that Shayla's next birthday will be on Monday so we won't be seeing her as a child until next week. But Noelle is due with baby #2 tomorrow! I wasn't about to let her have another pregnancy roll over into the next week. Not after the first one!
And Sunday, in the midst of the family Sunday dinner.. Baby number 2 arrived! By the way, this family has a LOT of issues with personal space.
Noelle has chosen to give birth in the corner like this is some Blair Witch stuff.
No blue eyes, but I'll take Kayla's golden ones again! We got our boy though! I wasn't prepared for the black hair with the golden eyes and the original boy name picked out just didn't seem to fit. He doesn't look like a Samuel to me. So I consulted with my dogs (they were no help) and my baby name books and the internet. I'm home alone but thought about texting my daughter. Finally, the name Sebastian was entered and listed with the official courthouse records. Sebastian Panda joined us at 3:32pm so I think that puts HIS toddler birthday on Tuesday. Next week will be busy right out of the gate.
The whole family was here to watch Noelle give birth. Not awkward or anything.
I can't wait to see how those eyes and the dark hair look on this little guy next week! The irony is that before I started their week I was hoping for the blue eyes and I thought to myself, "it's possible that Shawn would pass on Kayla's CC eyes. He should be carrying a gene for the blue and the golden ones." And here we are, no blue eyes. But they are done, their family is complete!
I don't think Shawn minds at all!
You know... I'm missing a Sim as I'm trying to close up their house. I sent Yardley out to change the season over to spring.... where the heck did he go?
Seems both babies were born during a snow storm! Noelle's snowman was melting down the next day and gone now. I guess Yardley thought he'd make it a tradition to celebrate a grandkid with a snowman!
And THATS ALL FOLKS!
... Yang is not a good guard dog, FYI.
Let me try this again. THATS ALL FOLKS!
Happy Simming!
