TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 25
1003 Centowski Street
We're free of the crowds of Nature nuts here at Xander and Cassie's house. Yes, Cassie is also a nature nut but she (and formerly Xander too) are Celebrity Chefs so I feel their house probably smells better. (No offence, Centowski #2's!)
Maybe I better just move into the resident intros now!
Monday started off with a pup birthday. My precious Teeny is now an elder! I'm going to warn everyone now, Teeny is a favorite and I'll be crushed when she passes. Get the prayer candles ready!
And Soupy came home with news of the first of hopefully many promotions! His goal is to be Captain Hero, and he's got a good ways to go to achieve that.
After midnight, I had Treva check the new job postings and FINALLY! FINALLY! An opening in the Adventure career. It was the first job to pop up too. Congrats, Treva!
Unfortunately though, she'll have to wait until Friday for her first day. It might even be Saturday, because...
Now we wait. I'm not decided yet on whether they'll have just one kid or not, so I'm really hoping she's not baking twins in there. Soupy is the only Family sim in the house and I'm getting a little nervous about my population growth.
But thanks to a chance card, Cassie brought home a nice little bonus. We can afford twins now; This gave them a nice little boost to their bank account!
Of course, Wedneday night brought us the next baby bump! It's 10:11pm so we're going to have another late night baby!
Xane is Xander's older brother and his official family visitation day was on Monday. I bring over a related household each day for socialization, but I digress again. Xane has wandered over every day and each time he fairly immediately goes to the chess table. I don't think they have one at his house. So I thought maybe I need to buy him one next time I play his lot, but honestly... his brother is right next door, why bother!
Well, well, well. Cassie brought a friend home. Long time, no see Miss Polly Gee.
Tick tock, tick tock. The time really seems to go by slowly when it's baby watch time. I let Polly hang out and play for a while but as it got closer to midnight, I sent her on home.
DING! Baby's done cooking! Here we go!!
PS - I can't decide if I'm hoping for a boy or girl! The Centowski clan has had predominantly boys for GENERATIONS, going from Legacy Cove all the way back to Legacyville. But the boy gene is being stomped on here in the Cove for Generation 5. Xavian has two girls so far, Xyla and Xora. Uri just had his first and it's a girl, Ursa.
Why am I distracting myself? It's baby time!
WELCOME TO LEGACY COVE, little guy!!! She had a boy! Meet Trace Stephens! Born just after midnight on Friday at 12:39am!
That's daddy's eye color (I had to take close-ups of all their eyes as both Treva and Soupy have brown eyes). Brown hair like daddy, but I saw that coming.
Yay! A boy! Who doesn't carry on the Centowski last name... Oh well. Maybe he'll have the Centowski nose to remember them by.
Xander volunteered to take the first shift. No prompting. He's usually up most of the night anyway (why do the elders never need to sleep!), and told him he could go play video games. No, thank you, he said. He has a grandson to bond with!
Thanks to Xander taking care of the night baby duties then Cassie taking over in the morning, both Soupy and Treva headed off to work Friday morning. Her first day as an Adventurer! But dang. Spin out a baby and head to your first day of work just hours later.
She must have made a bit impression because she got a promotion the first day. And Soupy was right behind her!
The promotion money on the heels of Cassie's chance card money made it an easy decision to upgrade the pink carpet in the nursery. I'm going to have to go shopping for some curtains though because the ones with the right color don't have the right aesthetic and the ones that look right don't have a matching color scheme.
I hate shopping in real life. Maybe if I could just download clothes and stuff?
And Soupy is on FIRE! Not just the flames on his hoodie, but Saturday he brought home ANOTHER promotion!
It's a good thing he has Sunday off because guess who has their first birthday tomorrow?
Meanwhile, in other Sim's lives... How Cassie couldn't get max enthusiasm for nature when she was gardening but finally achieved it in the winter... I don't even know. She's been doing a lot of newspaper reading and sharing the computer to blog.
Honestly, with all of these gamers I was going to set up the loft area at the top of their stairs as a console gaming space but I should probably add in another computer somewhere too. There's a lot of stomping and yelling over sharing (or not sharing) the computer.
Now, the moment that I've been waiting for................ Um. Where's Treva? I specifically told her to sit in a chair while I decorated for the birthday party but she skipped her child's first birthday to go to work. Well! I never!
Sigh. The moment that I guess ONLY I have been waiting for....
The parent with the higher relationship with the baby is the one I select to "Bring baby to cake", and Soupy already earned the privilege. Treva should still be here. I know, I know. Big career, first few days on the job.. but it's not like she didn't get some maternity leave vacation time. Sheesh. Anyway, roll that beautiful birthday footage!
Now, you'll notice there's not a picture of the baby spinning. No pre-makeover toddler picture. It's a story I've told too many times with this generation. Baby didn't want to age up.
Treva didn't miss anything.
I mean... Yeah, I guess going to work was worth it. Missed the cake, but your baby isn't a toddler yet and you achieved your life-time goal. I'm still miffed and not ready to talk to her yet.
But I thought Treva might end up being the one to spin the baby into a toddler. Little Trace made a stinky diaper and Treva was the one to change it since she already went to pick him up. But nope.
Maybe he needs a nap?
No baby is safe when Xayden is on the lot. He won't leave the kid alone. Had to send him home. But now the whole household is swarming the baby with "Help with Birthday" actions.
But still, Trace isn't ready to be a toddler.
FINALLY. (Twice in one update I use that word in all caps!) Cassie gave him a bottle, then put him on the ground, then picked him up, and FINALLY!!
Oh. He got daddy's eyebrows, too. He's a mean looking lil thing, isn't he? I didn't realize Soupy's eyebrows looked angry until now.
New clothes and hair made it a little less intimidating. So let me once again introduce little Trace Stephens. He's an Aries and I guess teaching them to walk lights up for the Fitness hobby. That's going to be a sharp contrast with our lazy gamers! His stats are 8 clean - 8 outgoing - 8 active - 7 playful - 4 mean. Them eyebrows don't lie, I guess!
I don't expect anyone to notice, so I'll point out that I put the same haircut on him that his granddad Xander and great-uncle Xavier had. It might get changed after another birthday or so, but for now it's a cute little nod to his granddad who adores him.
And when he smiles, he's not so mean looking! (That hair style also makes the eyebrows less visible, so another plus for it!). Laurel who has been absent for pretty much this whole update immediately went to introduce herself to him when he was finally put down.
I think someone's going to need his own puppy next week when he ages up to a child! Until then, I'm sure Cassie will share her best buddy with her grandson!
THANK YOU for reading, and happy Simming! With non-angry toddlers!
Carissa
