TS2 - Legacy Cove

Week 26

1003 Centowski Street

Howdy ho there, neighbors!  It's time for yet another Centowski update, this time with Xander and Cassie, and their daughter Treva, her husband Soupy, and their grandson Trace.  It's still springtime but Cassie's been struggling with getting her garden started with low temperatures.  Brrr!  Get a cozy drink and let's get started!

Okay, we're going to laugh at times, cry at others, and cheer a little in between.  And we're going to start with some high-fives and cheers, as Soupy came home with a promotion to SWAT Team Leader.  Not too much to go to reach his LifeTimeWant of being Captain Hero!

I've been meaning to set them up a gaming area in the loft upstairs, and with the promotion I guess there's no time like the present!  After all these weeks of green and brown as their decorating palate, Soupy's sneaking in some red and it sure does stand out!

They still seem to prefer the living room downstairs, though there's not a gaming system in there.  Treva and her "niece" (technically, first cousin once removed as Xora is the daughter of Xavian/Treva's cousin but Google says it's proper to refer to this relation as a niece or nephew.  Whew!) caught up on the weather forecast while Xane's family is visiting.  Yeah, still cold outside.

Trace is nearby!  He's the first tester for his "Aunt" Morrdredd's Twirl-Spin-and-Wobble!  We are only trying this out on the slow speed just to be safe.  He can try the medium and faster speed when he's older!

I like to make my Sims' houses big so there's not a lot of pathing issues and room for multiple generations and all their stuff.  But perhaps the deck is too big when you can play fetch with the dog on it...

Tuesday was a rough day.  But we started with puppy snuggles before Trace's nap, so we have that for us.

It's bittersweet though, because that was Teeny's last snuggle before the unwelcomed visitor arrived.

I'm not going to lie.  I get attached to all of my Sims and all of their pets.  But Teeny was a favorite.  Her littermate is Teddy who still lives next door for now.  We'll have to say goodbye to him next week.  But Teeny, from the moment she grew up and I saw her coat colors were inverted from the normal dark top coat and lighter belly area, has made me laugh.  She has been Xander's dog since he was a bachelor, which I guess means I've given her plenty of Kibble of Life and it's past time to let her go.

I put her gravestone behind Cassie's garden.  There were already butterfly lights out there but I added another set.  Laurel was the first to visit (did you know with the controlpets on, you can have the dogs click on the tombstone to mourn like the people Sims do?)

We need to shake off the grief, because Treva is still heading out to work.  Isn't she so fancy in her Space Pirate uniform?

After Grim & Teeny retired to Grim Islands, Xayden came for a visit.  That evening he helped mop the area of the garden where Laurel goes to pee... Without anyone influencing him or whatnot.  Just decided to mop the grass.  This happened again with a different Sim later in the week, too.  Weird lil' things, these Sims are!

Wednesday morning, Laurel came to get her daily toddler snuggles.   You can also have the dogs lick the toddlers, which... did I know this?  I don't know anymore what I just haven't noticed or just forgotten over time.  In any matter, it was super cute!

Wednesday also brought Xavier's family from across the street to visit.  Another thing that I've either not paid attention to or forgotten is that Sims can autonomously sing nursery rhymes with the toddlers!  Renee just plopped right down with Trace and they started singing.  Insanely cute and heartwarming!

And holy moly, did Treva hit it off great with a chance card that evening.  This is quite a nice bonus she got!

And wow is this week moving by fast.  One more day, and we'll be celebrating Trace's birthday!

And what's this?  Soupy is home with another big announcement!  He's been promoted again, this time to Police Chief!  It's about time someone was in charge around here.  The newspaper theft is absolutely out of control.

You think with Lindsay as the Law, perhaps Eagle wouldn't have been so brazen as to steal the newspaper right from under her nose, but no.  No.  He stole it and ran while she told him off.

But everyone still on the lot FREEZE.  No one move.  Don't even BREATHE.  Treva has come home with the (@&!*#9g FLU!  NO, WE CAN'T DO THIS AGAIN!

I panicked.  I sent Treva to her room and told her to relax.  She kept getting slowed down by a horde of Centowskis in the downstairs hallway.  My eyes are rolling into the back of my head.  And just where is Soupy?  He's my only Family Sim and I need soup NOW!

Somehow, by the grace of Wright, no one else caught it.  I force fed everyone Grandma's Comfort Soup just in case and used boolprop to make the visitors selectable and double-check them before I sent them home.  I forgot to lock the door to Treva's room and she comes chugging into the dining room like, "Oh boy, soup!" to which I almost fell out of my computer chair.  But she didn't breathe on anyone and it seems another pandemic might be avoided.

I sent everyone to bed so I could lay my head down on the desk for a bit and let my heart rate go down.  So many visitors.  So much risk.  So much relief that it didn't spread.  You guys may not remember the Great Plague of Weeks 23 & 24, but Pepperidge Farm remembers.  I remember!

Whew, anyway.  Moving on to Thursday.  Y'all won't believe this but Soupy needed 3 more skill points to be promoted up.  OR this chance card.

This was especially great as it brought him home early from work and it's Trace's birthday!  All of the Centowski clan came over early to celebrate!  Xavier and Lindsay discovered the gaming loft, and I'm pretty sure they are going to want one for themselves now.

Cassie took a hike with Laurel to get some quiet time before the real party started, and came back with a cool spider!  I like her style!

Okay, and the moment we've all been waiting for... It's time to Toss That Baby!  I'm hoping Trace looks less angry when he grows into a child.  Those eyebrows are crazy!

Let's get this show on the road.

(Xavian is way too excited to party!)

(Xavier, Xora, Uri)

This is different... Most kids age up and they want a friend, an A+ report card, maybe a skill point.  Trace wants pets.  Also, that slice of cake is bigger than his head!

So while you were comparing the size of the slice of cake to his head, I got a room set up for Trace and he's had his make-over.  Ta-da!

His room is missing something, maybe some kind of personal touch or maybe I need to go download some new rugs.  None of the ones I had looked right unless I rearranged all the furniture and I was too tired for that nonsense.  Also, I changed Trace's eyebrows to a thinner version and he looks MUCH more approachable now.

Friday brought a light snow.  Cassie's garden was just starting to thrive.  She's out there talking to the plants trying to convince them to hang in there.  Worst spring ever!

Trace seemed to enjoy his first day of school though!  I have no idea why we have two bus drivers but Claire is driving today.  I guess Old Man Geoffrey has the day off.  I absolutely do not see the need for two buses in this town.

And if you'll excuse me, I have to go have a conversation with Miss Gee, the trash can kicker.

Saturday arrived with a bright, clear morning.  But it's still nippy outside.  Most of the kids over for the playdate stayed inside!

(Standing:  Zyler, Yorwyck, Rocco)
(Couch:  Ursa, Trace)

I got a pic of Trace with one of his Centowski second-cousins.  That's little Ursa.  They look nothing alike!  Those Centowski genes used to be so dominant.

After the playdate was over and the boys were in bed, Cassie and Treva snuck out to do a little shopping.

Their first and only stop?  Purrfect Paws.

Welcome, Cooper!!  The whole household wants puppies so maybe next week.  Laurel isn't getting any younger though and she's had a few bowls of Kibble of Life already.

Treva got started right away on teaching Cooper his first command, "Come Here" and it took them hours.  All through the rest of the night and into the morning.  But finally!  He knows a command!

Treva was so worn out, she slept until the afternoon and even missed work.  Thankfully she still has some vacation days!  But that also let her be part of their Sunday family dinner.  She had a long game of chess with Xora until I made them go inside before they turned blue!

But that's all for this week.  Time to turn the weathernaught 57x to summertime and head over to visit another one of the Panda households again.

Till next time, thanks for reading & stay warm!
