Week 27

3 Bamboo Blvd

     Why is this house always so chaotic?  Starting off on Monday was pretty rough.  Especially considering there's no toddlers here.  They tricked me into complacency for a few more days before dropping classic Sim chaos on me.  Let me just introduce our cast of characters for this house and get started.

After a few restarts to get things rolling, Monday smoothed out.  Yardley's older sister Yamaris was visiting along with her family.

And Noelle came home with a promotion!  A wedding photographer.  Well.  I guess in a few weeks we'll be needing one of those.  Right now there's no weddings in the works.

Then, the bad omen.  FIRE!

They have a lightning rod.  I guess it just doesn't work like I expected it to.

TUESDAY

While Noelle may be flourishing in her new career path, Shawn is having some trouble.

I guess I'm going to have to start keeping track of how often I let the ones that drive themselves go to work a little late.   Ooooops.

Demoted all the way from top dog down to Medical Technician.  

That smarts.  

But we actually already have another Chief of Staff (Zakki Wolosenko).  This was Shawn's LifeTimeWant but now that it's fulfilled he's ready to be a mad scientist.  

As luck would have it, there is an opening in the Sciences!

Honestly, this seems logical for someone fired from the field of medicine to become a mad scientist.

Noelle is making some nice progress on her sewing hobby now that the kids are growing up.  

She's still right there though when Sebastian got off the bus with his own big news.  His first A+ report card!

He's so excited!

Or maybe he's excited, because speaking of growing up... It's Shayla's birthday!

Well, hey.  The game spun her into clothes that coordinate with the household blue/yellow theme.

But we can do better.

Shayla rolled 6 for her aspiration.  For me, that's a free pick, but Pleasure as a secondary.  Because I just can't do anymore Pleasure Sims.  

So here's our newest Popularity sim!  Her LifeTimeWant is to have 20 simultaneous best friends.  We can do that!

Whew, and now Tuesday is DONE!

WEDNESDAY

Shawn seems to be doing fine with his new career!  His skills are maxed out so promotions should roll right in for him.

He'll be a mad scientist in no time!

THURSDAY

Shawn had the day off work so he went with his mom Kayla to help run her pottery store.  It's been staying pretty busy!

Though maybe Kayla should have just called in the teenager she hired last week.  Shawn is terrible on the cash register.

SO SLOW.

But that's not holding Fancey Panda Pottery back at all!  It's now a rank 7 business.  

Though I have a pottery wheel in the employee area, I figured this was a good time to send Kayla and Shawn back home.  

Back home on the ranch....

I've been keeping Yardley home from work most of the week to let him get his vacation days before retiring.

I hadn't noticed he never fulfilled his LifeTimeWant of earning $100k simoleons until he was doing some financial consulting on the computer!

Sebastian had a chance card and his grades went up.  Which makes me suspicious because I didn't even know they'd gone down.   

Likely, they didn't drop.  Y'all saw that victory dance on Tuesday!

FRIDAY

Deb walked by the house with their dog Flopsy.  Which is Fleur's sister.  It was really endearing to see Fleur run up to play with Flopsy before she & Deb moved on.  How cute!

All Shawn has to do is go to work in a good mood.  And ding!  Promotion!  

He's got the skills, and while he's got plenty of friends, Yardley and Kayla are really the ones holding that down with the extended family relationships.  

Say hello to the neighborhood Theorist!

Hello to those extended family cousins too!  Friday evening is usually cousin day to let the kids build up their relationships.  So one day they'll be holding down those friend counts!

Kayla and Vera along with Yardley and Little Vincent had side-by-side games of catch.  Gotta let the generations mingle too, of course!

Look at all these little Pandas!  Starting with Shayla in the yellow, and going clockwise;  Yardley, Ulva (who came home on the bus with Sebastian and is not a Panda), Yorwyck, Yoren, Quentin, Little Vincent, and Vera.  

Ulva is asking who will carry on the crafting in the household one day and inherit the Fancey Panda Pottery!

SATURDAY

Saturday was an exhausting day with all the kids and teens over.

Have I mentioned before that these kids have bottomless stomachs?  Next time I'm just going to get the buffet table for them again.

No Sim gathering this summer is complete without the incessant game of kicky bag.  Yvonne showed up and I had a heck of a time getting her away from her kids so they could hang out with their peers.  INSTEAD OF THEIR MOTHER, YVONNE!  

After everyone else left that night, Xora just sat on the couch.  All night.  While the household slept.

Around 6 or 7am, she got up, walked around a bit then complained about no food and left.

No, that's not weird behavior at all, Xora.  Perfectly logical.

SUNDAY

Shayla couldn't wait for the buffet to be served.  She tried to make her own instant dinner.

All of the Pandas are here again, because it's family dinner night.

And it's Sebastian's birthday.

It's currently about 5pm.

I'ma have to work on fire safety with this girl because she won't try to extinguish the flame.  She's freaking out too much.

On the upside, I'm no stranger to Sims and their fire fetish so there's sprinklers AND a smoke alarm installed.  

Fireman Gast is on the way.  He said to hold on tight.

You know what, YES Yoren.  We'd LOVE to hear a joke right now.

But let's cancel that and run around trying to shield ourselves from the sprinkler.

There's a lot of water, so honestly I saw this coming.  The damn robots don't do well with water at all.  

But it's parked in the kitchen and I couldn't turn it off because FIRE FIRE FIRE OMG FIREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I'm not even trying to stop any of this at this point.  Just sitting back and watching the show.

I 100% forgot it was Sebastian's birthday.

Look at that.  The fire has saved everyone from the birthday picture spam.  YOU'RE WELCOME.

I so very rarely roll a 6.  I wasn't prepared for it to happen again.  Just like I wasn't prepared for the birthday spin and this pop-up, and there's a mess in the next room with all the water and the cleanbot malfunctioning and meanwhile all the Sims are coming in to talk to Shayla and Yoren .... 

Deep breath in.  Deep breath out.  Whooosaaaah!

I decided on Knowledge for him.  I was debating between that and Fortune, but realized there weren't any other male Knowledge teens yet.  

He wants to be a Media Magnate.  I like it, we'll do it.   And stupid Pleasure for his secondary.

Chaos.  Just how Wright likes it.

I figured I better wait until the crowd clears out a bit before I change his clothes.  I have that "Shop at home coat hook" so I don't have to send them off the lot.  I'm lazy like that.  

But there was just a lot going on, so I sent Sebastian to weed their garden.  And of course he gets his first gardening badge while I'm trying to clean up inside.

Like, can we just do one thing at a time here!?  Whew, okay.  Okay, make-over time.

A hairstyle was challenging because Sebastian has this weird, ugly nose.

But later I'll add more scruff to him and I really liked this base game hair with the beard scruff!

Seriously, where did he get that nose and lips?  I guess from somewhere in Noelle's family tree?   I'll have to load up that neighborhood and take a look at her dad and grandfather.  There's been predominately girls born in Noelle's last few generations.  You may recall her sister, Nikki Lee, from Deb's Diner.  She's the head hostess there.
