A Crazy Woman Emerges
You know what can happen in a week and a half? You may be thinking, "Well, surely you could update a dang blog." First, listen. Quit judging me!
I had the whole move thing going on right? And my podiatrist only does his surgery days on Wednesday. I turned in my notice at work and promptly got notice that my insurance would be cut off at the end of the month. Tick tock, tick tock. So the surgery day was pretty non-negotiable. My family decided to come down REALLY LATE that Tuesday before to help me move and to deposit me into my mother's care for post-surgery. Now, I thought the surgery was going to be in the afternoon so I'd have the morning to finish up some last minute packing. No. They called Tuesday around noon to tell me all the pre-surgery info I need and informed me I had to be there at 10:30am. Being that this was down in the middle of Charlotte, we had to leave an hour before that. (We were still 6 minutes late. I am not the least bit fashiony but I always arrive fashionably late. Does that count for doctors? Wait, I digress).
Luckily for me I had my dad and brother-in-law who are expert movers. They took care of all the heavy lifting and last minute packing along with some last minute repairs of the old house. Hooray! Points for the man team! Meanwhile, back on the ranch... my mom played games on her phone for several hours in the waiting room of the surgery center. Shhh. That's just something we aren't supposed to talk about.
So here we are, a week after the surgery on this glorious rainy Tuesday afternoon. I'm living with my parents again like the other cool kids. I've turned their house upside down with boxes and my junk everywhere. But my dad took the time yesterday to help me set up my desk and clean up the extra bedroom for all my computer and crafting junk. This is a huge relief for me because for a week I've been hobbling around, not able to be the least bit helpful, doing nothing but watching TV and icing my foot. At least now I can tuck myself away here at my desk, prop up my foot with an ice pack and pretend I'm working on my computer. Secretly, I may have my Sims game running also. *shifty eyes*
Really, I should be taking advantage of this time to lounge around, watch TV, read all the books I've been salivating over, and getting in more than my fair share of gaming time. But I'm so used to being busy that all that leisure time made me start feeling depressed. So once my desk was fixed up, TV behind me set up with some Netflix, and my computer up and running, well, I just started making gameplans.
I popped up out of bed this morning and crutch-walked my way to the desk. I've set up a new Facebook page for my own brand, The Crafty Warrior, and also a page for all Storenvy e-shop owners to collaborate on, Storenvy Market. So that's on TOP of also keeping up with Those Crafty Chicks page and this blog. Didn't I say I was downsizing on my last post? I think what needs to be understood here is... I'm out of control.
So my upcoming plans besides spending the day updating The Crafty Warrior facebook page is also to look towards readying myself for the Fall Fest in Barboursville WVa in 2 weeks and looking towards Halloween, along with trying to squeeze in some fundraising for some local groups.
Out. Of. Control.
Best,
Carissa
