The Sims 2
Wedding Bells!
I had to put my sims away for a few weeks while I prepared for a Fall Festival but that is sooooo yesterday. And today, after doing a lot of sleeping in and napping, I got back into Legacy Cove.
I left off last with Zane graduating from Sim State and heading out into the big wide world. Well, it's a pretty big neighborhood map, anyway. I picked out a nice spot at the end of a road. There's nice views of the cove and shouldn't have any close neighbors for many generations to come. I plunked him down there and then we started with a little shack. And some kissing. We didn't waste any time in getting Amaris over to survey the shanty house and let her decide if she wanted to run away. Ha! She can't get enough of her Zane! She's not going anywhere! Muwhahah!
Now, truth be told... I bought some statues before Zane left the dorms so he had a little extra cash when he got back into the main hood. So even though he's living in a one room shack, it's still a bit spiffier than what you'd normally expect from a Legacy founder. And even though he's on a nice secluded dead-end street, he's got a lot of freaking foot traffic. Maybe just the locals coming by to see who this new guy is?
First, Silia Medrano came by. I figured Amaris might need some gal pals and Twinkie power so I started greeting the Twinks as they came by. After Silia came Deb O'Simski. Then we had Lindsay Mizry and Julie Jaz. It was a Twinkie party! Bobbi Wetninja and Katy Neonhorn is in the mix somewhere, too.
I gave Zane two days to settle in but then it was time to get down to business.
After the engagement, I brooded over hosting a wedding. That's a lot of work n' stuff. Not to mention the financials of getting an arch, seating for the guests, and feeding those buggers. Blah blah blah. So... I decided to keep things low-key. Amaris, I'm sorry you didn't have the big lavish wedding I'm sure you dreamed of your sim having.
Did you know...Amaris is a Captain Hero and was hiding $19,000 simoleons on her? Hellooooo nurse! Time to upgrade our shack, and things are turning out quite nicely! Both Zane and Amaris rolled up wants for babies right away. Locked! Suckers! One thing Amaris does not have though... is cooking skills. She even burned the mac and cheese. Seriously, Amaris. Get it together!
Not bad, huh? Don't worry, after I took all of these pictures I realized that the foundation needed some paint and it matches the house now. But they have a nice little ranch house and still have over $10k to do more expansions whenever we get around to the babies.
Amaris had the next few days off so there was a nice routine of Zane going off to work and Amaris greeting the Twink walk-bys. They'd spend the day socializing and by the time Zane got home, Amaris would have dinner going to the table to eat a meal with her friends while Zane got cleaned up from work and did some solo things like blogging.
Then the evenings were theirs to share together! But I've been stymied by a lack of wants to whoohoo. I was determined that their first time would be because both of them had the want for it. Not just baby wants. You must want to whoohoo each other! Instead they kept rolling the loop of wants to entertain, tickle, and admire each other. You can see me over here, right? Like THIS:
Zane also was pushing for reaching max enthusiasm in science so he got a telescope. I couldn't decide if I wanted him to be abducted or not. I decided to let the dice roll! He could indulge himself all he wants on the telescope. One way or another, we are going to have some freaking babies, okay? Amaris also had some skilling wants due to the fall season so I set them off to work on those in hopes they'd reconvene and want to do some making out!
Then Amaris was back to work and Zane had his days off. The schedules flip-flopped. What a great schedule to have if there's ever kids in the house... *HINT HINT HINT HINT*
I also discovered that Legacy Cove is in deep trouble. Deep, deep trouble. Amaris brought home a co-worker... the one... the only... Polly Gee. Legacy Cove is going to need some help if Polly is the new sheriff in town!
Side note, I discovered that Amaris didn't have access to the career reward for the law enforcement path. I guess because she was never promoted to the position and was just assigned to it as a townie. Also, her LTW is to be Captain Hero and... she is Captain Hero.. but.. no LTW fulfilled. Pooh pooh on you, Maxis! What a tease to assign her to that job.

Anyway, the days ticked by. At first I wasn't too concerned because rushing into babies isn't a very smart move. But Zane and Amaris are family sims and they have the money to afford a baby. Maybe not spoil it with material possessions but we can build it a room and afford the crib, even let Amaris quit her job to take care of the kid! The first week is almost up and I'm getting grey hairs myself over here!
Finally I just had to take matters into my own hands! "Take your wife on a stupid date!" I told Zane. I really hate dates. But it worked! Mission accomplished! Exxxxxcellent.
The next day was Sunday so Zane had the day off from his political job. He wants to be an education minister but the stupid education jobs haven't rolled up. It's been a week! Come on, we have wants to be fulfilled! Argh. Oh, and speaking of those wants.... remember the locked "Have a baby" wants they share? As fall turned into winter and Amaris looked at the cruddy snowfall the Cove gets and then made out with her husband. (Seriously, these two are super cute with their light kisses, kissing up the arm, and such)...
Ooh, bebbies! :))
