Legacy Cove - Week Nine - 1001 Bamboo Boulevard
It's time to start the second household of the neighborhood. Not counting the university in the rotation, of course. My girl Zamaris is all grown up and is ready to start a household of her own. Welcome to 1001 Bamboo Boulevard!
So... In my head, I was going to just build Zamaris this great house and start having babies right away. It wasn't QUITE that simple. I loaded up a new lot and I only gave her a short wall to get new clothes and such before starting at the top of the week's rotation with her parents' house. So... I came back to... this;
Hmm... all this lawn and no house. And we've got Agnesi the schnoodle to take care of, too! How are we going to do this?
Thank you, Amaris! Your death was not in vain! Okay, so we have another $10k from her inheritance. That brings the bank to a smidge over $20k available. That'll get us out of lawn living!!
Um, excuse me sir. That's not creepy stalker behavior or anything to walk up on a young lady alone in the middle of no where and leave her a wrapped gift. Stay close, Agnesi! Luckily.. a knight and shining armor came to the rescue!
"Oh, Rob! I am SO HAPPY to see you! I have to build this house, and my mom died, and this weird guy is leaving me pink gifts... "
"Will you just move in and stay with me?"
Yes. Yes he will. So Rob Panda moves in and, hello! Another $10k! We can really do a great house with $30k! This is awesome! But wait! There's more! Rob also got a small inheritance from Amaris. So let's see what we can do here. *Cracks knuckles*
Okay, we'll need to lay the driveway so I don't screw that up later. And I like a foundation on the house. The front door tends to always be in the middle of the houses I build, so let's switch that up a bit. Mmmkay, this is coming along nicely. Ummm.... what do you mean, I don't have money left to finish painting inside!?
Go big or go home? So the outside looks finished kinda. It took until the weekend to fix up a front porch so they used the back door for a week haha. And there's not much paint going on inside. Not all the rooms have flooring. But... it's a house! With a refrigerator! And a stove! And a be.... oh wait, there's no bed. Son of a biscuit!!!
"As long as we are together, Rob, I don't care about the house!" And I mean... this is an upgrade for Rob after living in the townie purgatory.
Soon the neighbors started walking by and the lovebirds invited whoever strolled past to see the new house. Some people were jealous though and showed it.
What a jerk! I started to influence Polly to clean up her mess but seeing as how the house was all of one hour old at the time, I didn't want to waste the points. But don't think I'll forget this, Gee!!
And we have other things to worry about here. Like how to get a dang bed!!! And here's the thing. I sold off some of the things that I had bought and got them the cheapest double-bed in the buy catalog. After a few sim hours, I saw Rob going to clean something as Zamaris had her fear panel roll. What tha... what is he going upstairs to clean!? OH MY WRIGHT, AGNESI DESTROYED THE BED. Schnoodles! What are you going to do!? Now we have to figure out how to buy ANOTHER stupid bed!
You may be thinking, "Oh, no, she didn't!" But, oh, yes I did. I had them freestyle for tips. By greeting everyone that walked by the house, we had quite the audience and racked up more in tips than Zamaris can make by painting. They were pulling in $300 to $400 with each session. New bed! Wait... what is going on with Zane.....
You are kidding me, right, Zane? Heart-farting over trash-can flipping Polly? One Twink wasn't enough for you? I can't even talk to him when he's like this! I. Can't. Even!
Where were we? More freestyling! Momma needs a new easel! This was before we found out painting was not as profitable as rapping. Kate was bobbing her head while Polly waved her arms in the air like she just didn't care.
Oh yeah, baby! Momma needs a wedding arch! Everyone was dropping $100 tips and it was awesome.
Don't worry, Rob did his turn out on the curb also. I didn't let him just pimp out his girlfriend on the corner. And oh, man, was he a hit. Everyone likes to see a Panda do a little song and dance. Yeah, baby! Daddy needs to buy an engagement ring!
By the end of Monday they weren't totally broke but still had a lot of work to do. Tuesday morning, Rob went off to work as a paramedic while Zamaris had the day off from her natural scientist career. But there's no day off from the thug life.
I tried to let her make some legit money on the side by selling a painting but unfortunately, there's just too much money to be made on the street.
Together though, they did make enough money to put down flooring and paint the walls of the living room! Not only that, but they managed to get paint up in the kitchen as well! Yahooooo!
To celebrate, I let Zamaris fulfill a want I locked for her back in college. Do you know how many points you get for learning to cook a turkey? It was 3500 I think! I'm going to start paying more attention to those wants.
Anyway, she made a perfect turkey and every last bite was eaten. And the plates promptly left on the floor because there's not any extra counter space and the only sink is in the bathroom. Sigh. NOW we are using those influence points to get people to clean!
Wednesday dawned in much of the same situation. A little money sitting in the bank but still way too much work left to do on the house. But things took a big turn that afternoon!
Nice work, Zamaris!! Then things got even better. I thought to look in Rob's inventory and found some goodies. We sold a bust of Tywhatever and raked in another $3k. So now between the promotion, selling inventory, and the freestyling these kids have around $8k in the bank! LET'S CELEBRATE!
Obviously, she said yes. She's only wanted to get engaged to him since freshman year. LET'S CELEBRATE SOME MORE!! TO THE DINING ROOM!
Isn't it beautiful! The table was expensive but I paired it with some of the cheaper chairs. Also, you know, I wish real life was like this.
Zamaris also has high skills in just about every thing so the next day she went to work and got ANOTHER promotion.
By this time, Agnesi was smelling so bad no one could walk into a room with him without stopping to hold their nose and complain. So with this promotion money a bathtub was purchased and put in the future nursery bathroom just to wash the dog. Stink no more, Agnesi!
I had also switched Rob from the medical career path to the education career. Based on what I know of real Rob, I thought he'd be best suited for a teaching career or gaming. Both came available on the same day. Listen, I had trouble at lunch today deciding between a beef pot pie and a chicken pot pie. How the heck am I supposed to choose this guy's career? Ugh, finally I decided that the education career path was more fitting of a family man and on Thursday we had more promotions!
Oh, you family sims and your "Honey, I'm home" strutting. Anyway, all of these promotions mean less free-styling though. And lots of house fixing-upping. The kitchen is furnished now! These sims are going places!
For most of the week, with all of the promotions both Zamaris and Rob had Saturday off so I planned on the wedding for that day. The 2nd promotion for Zamaris threw a wrench in that plan so I was REALLY happy when she got that 3rd promotion and got the weekend off again. Vacation days aren't a luxury they have just now, though *taps head* I finally remembered about this time to go into their aspiration points and throw a point into extra vacation days for Zamaris.
While I was checking out the aspiration points, I also thought to check and see who had career rewards available. And now the family has TWO pets!
And on that note, let's get this party started. And Amaris, there's no gate to the cowplant. Sorry ma'am. I know nothing would please you more in death as to have a little company but I'm not ready for that kind of chaos. Anyway. Let me just spam you with some pictures for a moment.
Aren't they just picture perfect? Makes me almost mushy. For those that are curious, Rob Panda is a cancer, he likes to tinker, and he hopes to have 6 grandkids.
I was also so stupidly delighted at how the guests seated themselves. Daddy Zane was at the forefront, Zachariah & Antoinette sat together, and only if Zayna & Trevor sat together it would have been perfect. I don't think that Cassie or Deb would have complained about sitting next to Chase Banque or Caden Chauncellor. Those boys clean up nice! Ay papi!!
If we could get a drumroll now please, there's something to be done that's going to make both of these kids very happy.
Upon taking on Rob's last name, Zamaris promptly rolled up a want to have a baby. Rob had a want locked from the day before to have his very first whoohoo with Zamaris. Though... the first go didn't result in a lullaby. They didn't complain when I decided to have them try again. And SUCCESS!
To wrap up their week, I had them finish up the front porch on the house and I'll leave you with a parting shot of Mrs Panda.
Now it's time for me to pop over to the university for the last set of semesters for Zayna & Trevor. Jailbreak time!!
I wonder what made Polly so mad that she kicked over the trash can?
