Legacy Cove - Week Nine - Archer House - Heirs & Spares!
Time to start up week nine at the Cove. Back to the Archer household, where we left off with Antoinette knocked up. Zachariah was working on his robotics, Zane stays off in la-la land, and Amaris called to check in on her other children every day. Sometimes two or three times a day. Leave the kids alone!
I had also noted that Polly had been conspicuously absent lately, so guess who showed up early in the week? Mmhmmm....
We also had a few other visitors who have not been around much lately. Toots Savoy stopped by, and we also had Kate Gypsy come by to show off her new outfit and hair cut. Come on in, ladies!!
Zach finally got a bronze badge at robotics so he's making hydrobots. I meant to give Cassie one when she stopped by one day but forgot. Drat! Since she's a nature hobbyist, I thought it would definitely come in handy for her if she ever lands a full-time gig in this neighborhood again.
Remember Amaris getting the bedroom redecorated for her birthday and I said I'd get Zane a grill or something? I finally got around to doing that, on the day I had him meet his second lifetime want of a Golden Anniversary. Isn't it a beauty!
Zane and Amaris invited over the family and a few other friends to celebrate the anniversary shindig. Ahem.... Lisa... Polly.... No, it's not suspicious AT ALL that you showed up together like this.
They had a great evening of grilling food and playing kicky bag in the living room. And the party ended before the score glitched and rolled over. Hooray! Good times for all!
Zachariah and Antoinette's mission for the house is to work on the outdoors so I had them install street lights out front for starters. Unfortunately... Zane and Zach both checked out the lights and hated them. There's no pleasing some people!!!
Later that night after the party and disappointment over the street lights, Antoinette went into labor. HALLELUJAH, GENERATION THREE IS HERE! I have both a boy and girl name picked out and I'm excited. HIT ME!
Do you see me laughing? I'm totally not. Dammit! Twins! Well, got the heir and the spare in one go, so I guess this can work. First one out is a boy. Presenting Zack Archer!
Next one out the gate is a girl, who I'm naming Zoey as a weird twist on Antoinette's name. Both kids are blonde with regular green eyes. Boooo!
Where's the custom green eyes! Aren't those and Antoinette's brown eyes dominate genes? How the heck we get recessive green? Ugh. Amaris has green eyes, so I guess Zack passed them on. Antoinette's parents in the old 'hood had brown eyes (mom) and blue eyes (dad).
At least Amaris gets to pass on something into this family. ... But the custom eyes!! *cries real tears* Okay, maybe not real tears but there's an image of me in my head crying tears.
Back to the situation at hand. There's entirely too many people in this bathroom. We've got three adults and two infants. CLEAR THE ROOM PEOPLE!
As it turns out... two babies is a lot of work. I really struggled taking care of these two. The adult sims in the house are enough work on their own! And I tried to bring over Zamaris and Zayna but they aren't the dream aunts I hoped they would be. Grrr!
There were some nice, heart-warming moments though. Amaris tried to help take care of the babies since she was off work the first few days. But two babies and three big babies is a tall work order! This is almost a tender picture, but the diaper stink kinda ruins it.
I mean, Antoinette wouldn't even feed herself. I quit telling the sims in the house to go eat. Just to see how long it would take them to realize they were hungry and there was food waiting in the kitchen for them. Tick tock, tick tock.
So when Grim showed up, I was irritated. Stupid Antoinette! Your hunger is so far in the red, you are dying! I tried to have Zack click on Grim to plead for her life.
But... but... it wasn't Antoinette that Grim had come for. Holy crap, I thought Amaris still had time! No, Grim! THINK OF THE BABIES! Crap! CRAP! Suddenly I was thankful that I did the Golden Anniversary when I did! And at least she got to see her grandbabies... even if it was just for a day... CRAP!
Now I have three needy adults in the house and 2 infants. They tried to carry on after Amaris's death but let me tell you, I do not recall struggling with raising twins as I did in this week. Wowzers. I kept trying to bring the aunts over but they weren't really any help. What with Zayna breaking the computer and Zane having to lecture her... sigh. You girls are just creating more work! Stop that!
They tried to help out. Bless their hearts. Bless ALL of their hearts! But this family is seriously unequipped to have these two helpless bundles of joy! All they knew how to do was to feed them endless bottles and there was never-ending bath times.
And I swear to Wright, Zayna, if you drop that baby down the stairs... Why are you just standing there! Whooosaaaah! I was so stressed out trying to keep everyone happy and safe!
We needed help. I thought about calling in a nanny but that didn't seem to be the smartest thing. I took a look around the house and tried to decide what could be done to help these poor sims.
Mmmhmm. I think I have an idea of just what hero we need to call. Zack! To the phone!
"Yes, we need help. A lot of help. Send us your best. We have money! We'll pay top dollar!"
Mr. Tyson McMillian is the best they have. I had my suspicions when he stepped out of the maid van but he's helping keep the house in order. No more having to influence all of their friends and family to help clean! Now if only Mister Tyson would help bathe the dogs... they are perpetually stinky.
They are down to just three dogs now. After loosing Astro last week, that brought us down from five schnoodles. Then Zamaris took home Agnesi early this week. Now dear little Anabelle is hitting her silver years. Poor lil' schnoodle mama.
Next week when the twins grow up to kids, I'll send someone to the pet store to pick out a new mate for Artemis. Probably Antoinette, and I'll let the kids share a pup. The household has been flirting with puppy wants since Amaris's death, so I'm sure we can get some more rolled up and locked. Do schnoodles have to be white? Can they be any color? I need to do some research on schnoodles.
Finally, Friday arrived. It's the twins' birthday today. Oh boy, I just can't wait for these kids to be toddlers. Ugh. Wait... what's going on in here!? No fighting in the kids' room! I don't know who started this, Zayna or Teressa, but you girls better behave yourselves.
Okay. So we can't even pull off the birthday thing right. We couldn't get Zack to the cake in time so he just got tossed. Two feet away from the cake. Whatever, maybe we can still get Zoey there and have a decent picture for the album.
Yay! Zamaris even brought Zack over to the cake which made for a sweet little picture. By the way... is Zack and Zoey some kind of Disney show? It sounds like it might be. Please tell me I didn't name my generation 3 babies after a teeny bopper show!
Man, what is this!? MORE FIGHTING? Teressa, what gives? Two arguments in one day? Though... this fight was inevitable. Carissa Pepper vs Teressa Bowcrafter. The day was coming. But it didn't have to happen at the legacy house birthday bash! OMG. Sims these days!
Meanwhile... in other parts of the house.... How many aunts does it take to bathe one toddler? What is with these guys piling up in the bathrooms this week?
It took me the rest of the night to get all of these extra hands OFF my babies, and get Zachariah and Antoinette to get them dressed and new hair cuts. But ta-da!! By morning, we had succeeded!
It took most of Saturday to get everyone in the house happy and greened up again. We got the toddler skilling underway and by Sunday, things were looking like a normal family again, with Antoinette cooking breakfast and Zachariah fixing the garbage disposal alongside her.
Look how clean it is in there now! Bless you, Mister Tyson! With the house all spiffy, we had the rest of the family over and didn't have to make them clean for us. It was a lovely fall day and they finished up the week with some kicky bag. Yay, happy memories being made!
I've really never been so happy to end a week at one of my houses. We had babies being born and a death. Birthdays and chaos. Time to head over to Zamaris's new house-in-the-making and see what's cooking over there.
Oh, but before we go... Julie Jaz got her makeover, too! Whaddya think?
JUST KIDDING, JULIE!
I know she told me when I asked about tips for her makeover that she said she has shoulder-length hair, but I saw that hat... and it matched... and you know, Julie does a lot of crochet and knitting. It was meant to be! Ta-da!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to do some googling on schnoodle dogs and their breeding. Then I'll scoot on over to Zamaris's new lot and please Wright, let her have single babies and let them be easy!
Carissa
Wow, what a week that was! Love Julie J's new look.
