TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 24 - 1 Bamboo Blvd

TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 24

1 Bamboo Blvd

Isn't the Panda house so pretty in the fall?  It's pretty most of the year, in my humble opinion.  It looses a bit of curb appeal in the winter with the dead trees.  Overall I've been pretty impressed with myself on this house.  Anyway!  It's week 24 and autumn here at the Panda den.  Our current residents are Yung & Pearly, and fresh from college we have Yvonne and her boyfriend Brandon Deppiesse.  Along with Rollins, Pyro, Poison Ivy, and Pepper.  The four schnoodles.   Recap time!

I know, it's almost impossible to tell all of these grey dogs apart.  Even with the collars.   I'm not sure if I mentioned it previously but every Monday at the start of the week, my sims take a dose of Elixir of Life and the pets would have some Kibble of Life.   While the sim dose grants, what, 3 days?, I realized that the pets were getting 5 days so only aging 2 days a week.  Oops.  So I backed off of that way back in the spring.  I'll come back around to the pets in a moment.

     Because..... THE PLAGUE IS HERE!

I am super glad that the Archer family last week didn't have the stupid cold that's going around because there are NO family sims and NO nature nuts in that household.  And no one has gifted them any oranges.  Luckily, the Pandas have both.  Yvonne is a family sim and Pearly has so many oranges.  So many.

I chose the orange juice remedy to keep Yvonne away from the germs.  It worked!  UPDATED PLAUGE LEVEL:  NEGATIVE.  That was easy.  Suspiciously, too easy...

Now, to invite their family members over one at a time.  I moved the teleporter inside a little corral I created and locked the gate.  Unlike with Xayden's house, I promptly relock the gate after allowing the guest Sim to leave the sick bay.

There's a tombstone there for Zamaris but no one paid it any attention.  Yung, Pearly, and Yvonne all have a want to see her ghost, and yeah, I was totally doing the skeptical side-eye.  But spoiler:  Zamaris never makes an appearance.  She's a well-kept ghost and not interested in haunting.

And remember, I went a bit overboard on the Amaris name tributes.  G2 Zamaris is not to be confused with G3 Yamaris.  Or G4 Vamaris.  All daughters of the previous generation.  But we're going to stop that mess, I swear.

You might not have recognized Brandon, by the way.  He had a major make-over after graduating from Uni.  He looked so... unkempt before.  So I cleaned him up.  Gave him clothes that fit, a nice hair cut.  He's ready for life as an adult fortune Sim!

     .... Sorta.

Because of the germs going around, parent day never happened at Uni.  So Pearly is a big bewildered by this crazy Sim playing in their guest bathroom with a leaky faucet.  Pearly, I don't know what to tell you.  He picked your daughter and she went along with it.  We're just here for the ride, girl.

Toots came by on Tuesday and invited herself in.  Dangerous to do during these germ-riddled times but hey.  Most intriguing though is she began gardening, which is simply NOT something she does at home.

I'm a bit worried about her, this isn't normal behavior for her!  She usually plays the piano or lounges around on the couch.  But hey, don't let me stop you.  Obviously the yard needs some attention here.  You'd think the two new unemployed graduates would step up.

Maybe I should change the subject.  Speaking of all this plague/pandemic/germs stuff, DID YOU KNOW YOU COULD BAN THE PLAGUE WITH THE ADJUSTER?

Why have I never noticed that before?  Unfortunately, it has some kinks to work out.  I banned the plague from the lot then when Yung came home from work he brought a friend.  A friend named Xavian.  Xavian has the plague.  I know, I checked.  He did not dissolve or leave on his own.  I teleported his pixelated butt right on out of there.

If I had seen who kicked over my gnome, I would have teleported them out too!  How rude.

Now that the gypsy isn't auto-banned from the lot, she's been making a lot of appearances.  It's like she's been released from her magic lamp and is running amuck.

Okay so listen.  We've already made it to Friday in the game.  I have a Family Sim and a Fortune Sim with 3 bolts.  Where's my damn engagement and wedding wants?  They've been on several dates and the best I'm gonna get is a "Fear of Brandon being stinky"?   Really, Yvonne?

I checked her likes/dislikes and there's nothing there about odor.  She likes facial hair and good cooks.  .... Brandon has 4 cooking skill points but I guess that's working for her.

And of course, it took me complaining about the no wedding wants for ONE to appear.

Still working on Brandon through Friday night but he's just wanting to buy a lot of expensive things.  I've let his aspiration drop and still, nothing.  He's shacked up and he's happy with that.

UGH.  I have other things to worry about because Grim is here for Rollins.  Don't even talk to me right now, Brandon.

Rollins has been around for so long, I can't even find a memory of him being added to the family in Yung's memories.  After Yung graduated from University and moved back here to the family estate, Rollins and his mate Ruby had their litter of puppies (Pyro is from that litter).  So he's lived a good, long life.  But I was really attached to this little guy, so if you'll excuse me a moment....

It's the other dogs howling that really gets into my heart.  Deep breathe here.  Okay.  I moved Rollins gravestone back behind the dog house with the others.  It's under the trees and peaceful back there.  As long as you ignore the cowplant.

Then.  I marched Yvonne and Brandon out to the back yard and told Brandon I am tired of waiting for him.  Are we doing this or WHAT?

Well, I was 'speaking' through Yvonne and she phrased it much more nicely than I did.  He accepted.  GOOD.  Because it was 'yes' or BACK TO THE STREETS, TOWNIE BOY.

Again, Yvonne said it much more nicely.  She's happy with the results and I am too.  But again, are we doing this or what!?

     "Oh yeah, we're doing this!"

I guess I did a better job on that make-over than I thought I did.  She's totally checking him out.  Maybe he just dresses up nice.  In any matter, I'll just let the pictures do the talking for a moment.

And because deep down I'm sentimental and love traditions, Yvonne is wearing Pearly's wedding dress.  We didn't even have to make any alterations to it, who'da thunk?

They had a great time after the ceremony, with all of the guests staying until 2am.  Then it was time for a more private party.  But first, pictures!

We should probably leave the room now.

Sunday is usually family dinner day but since we had the big wedding shindig on Saturday, I let them just chill out.  Well.  We tried to, anyway.   Grim came again.

That's just cruel, Grim!  Two dogs in one week!?   I thought I had Pyro for a few more days still.  This totally caught me off-guard.  I'm going to be in my anger stage of grieving now.

I almost totally missed Grim because I sent Brandon to look for a job.  He's not a very good Fortune Sim, if you ask me.  He has not wanted to get a job through this whole week.  His lifetime want is to "Own 5 Top-Level Businesses".  We'll talk about ONE top-level business first before we commit to five.

Speaking of LTW, Yvonne's is to "Marry Off 6 Children".  This is not going to happen.  Allow me to explain.  FIRST OF ALL, I'm not trying to name another 6 kids with Y- names.  We tried that with her grandmother Zamaris who had the same LTW but we only made it to 5 kids.  Two of them aren't even married.  (Yvette and Yeva).  Secondly, I'm not trying to overpopulate the game with a bunch of new houses.  That's why Legacyville ended on generation 8.  It was just too big.  Third, there's 4 adults and 4.... oh no.... 2 dogs.  Yung and Pearly are gonna have to die an untimely death if Yvonne wants to achieve that want, or she should have gotten started quicker on those kids so the older ones could be going off to University and making room for more babies.

And if Pearly dies, who is going to take care of this garden in the back yard?  Hmm, Yvonne?  Because you just want to look through the telescope all the time.

This is some nature nut level commitment here.  Gardening in the rain.  Talking to your eggplants.  I'm pretty sure there's a joke in here somewhere but I'll walk away.

NO!  WE MUST RUN.  RUN TO THE FIRE!

Ya know..... They don't get a lot of fires here.  Probably because there's a lightning rod on their roof.  So what in tarnation happened here?  I'm not sure but Sunday is coming to an end so I'd better get to wrapping this up.

Pearly had a busy day, talking to the eggplants and putting out fires, and retiring from work!  She'll no longer be going out at night and running loose as a Criminal Mastermind!

She then went to have dinner with Yvonne in the dining room.  A nice bowl of soup on this cool evening on the cusp of winter.  But it was leftover soup and I think it made Yvonne sick.

Ew.  I hope those neatness personality points kicks in and she cleans that blue stuff up off the floor.  Gross.  The servo is already gone.

Oh!  Earlier this week, Yvonne had the honor of activating the Panda broods' first servo.  With much deliberation and annoyance/collaboration with my daughter, I finally settled on the name Ytterbium (ih-TER-be-um) since Yvonne is a science-y kind of gal.  Ytterbium is on his way to becoming my favorite servo.  When he realizes there is something to clean, he does the little happy fist pump thing.  That's what I like to see, buddy!

WHEW!   So that's all folks! Thanks for reading and stay warm!
