 TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 24

Hello, hello!  It's a beautiful fall week full of Pandas!  We're currently checking in on Yardley, Kayla, and Shawn Panda, along with their schnoodle Yang.   It's a busy week, so we'll once again jump right in!

Monday started up with Yardley wanting to tell some jokes and stuff to his cousin Xander Centowski, so I figured he had some time before he left for work and popped him on over to the lot.  Before anyone could interact with him, Xander went straight to the doghouse out back and started cleaning it.

I really love Xander.  The older he gets, the more I like the Sim.  And it doesn't hurt that he has a resemblance in both looks (aside from that Centowski nose!) and personality to one of my uncles that I'm quite fond of.

While Xander was scrubbing away, Shawn was doing some work in the garden.  The family-shared servo Ybtterium was over to do some cleaning and repairs.... but the jerk stole our chicken statue instead!!!   Yardley was just playing with that statue before Xander arrived, so I KNOW it was there.

I don't know if Shawn's language is strong enough, so pardon me, but listen here, you little shit.  I want that statue back!

It doesn't help that Ybtterium and Shawn's girlfriend Noelle aren't getting along either.  It's getting very hard to keep them separated.

And I got evidence of Noelle slapping the servo around, but Ybtterium started it.  If this servo isn't doing chores, then he's stalking Noelle around the house.  I used to like this stupid robot!  Monday is off to really rocky start here.

The game continues to rub salt in my wounds also.  Remember how at our last house Treva and Soupy were looking for jobs in the Adventurer and Law Enforcement careers?  Treva never did find an opening for hers, but Soupy in the wee hours of Sunday finally got a job.  What does this game present to Shawn on Monday?  You know, Shawn that wants a job in the medical career?

I try to brush it off.  It's fine that Shawn doesn't have a job yet.  It's FINE.  I'd really like him and Noelle to get married ASAP and have a baby this week.  We can focus on that.  Noelle is more than happy to oblige.

Date, after date, after date.  Shawn isn't thinking about marriage at all.  If he had any other 3-bolters besides Renee (Uri's girlfriend) and Noelle, I'd have him date around a bit.  But all his eggs are now in Noelle's basket.  He otherwise seems happy to spin up wants involving her.  He wants to interact with her 24/7.

He just doesn't want to get married.  I'm getting ahead of myself though.  Let's go back to Monday night and Yardley's "Operation: Bring Back The Chicken".

The servo is still here, and it keeps running after Yardley trying to interrupt him.  Yttebrium suddenly just HAS to tell him jokes, appreciate him, etc etc.  I've never seen this happen before.  This game is full of surprises, even after all these years.  Oh, I cancelled out all those attempted actions.  You're going down, bot boy.

OPERATION: BRING BACK THE CHICKEN WAS A SUCCESS!  That'a boy, Yardley!

This time, I placed the chicken in the front yard against the foundation of the house.  Putting it directly in front of something works with the gnomes.  Spoiler alert:  It does not work with chicken statues.

I'm going to walk away from this and we'll revisit the Great Chicken War in a moment.  Let's check out the new addition to the back yard now instead.

Why has it taken me 24 weeks to think to put in a pond for these nature nuts to go fishing?  Yardley took a liking to it immediately.  And he's very skilled, I should have taken a picture of all the fish we stocked in the fridge at the end of the week!  Only 2 or 3 boots, tons of fish!

Tuesday, Kayla also opened her pottery shop.  I figured it would be slow and a good test to make sure there's no cold germs still floating around out there.  Our pandemic is over though, and wow are these Sims flooding in to buy some pottery!

(It's Kate!)

Back home, the dates continued.  STILL, Shawn would not roll up a want to get married.  I am getting very impatient!  They sure do like to whoohoo though.  And walk around in their underwear.  Aunt Yvette is embarrassed for them.

Yet another thing I've not seen them do before.  Sure, I've seen a spouse walk in on their husband/wife and squawk in surprise.  Never seen one be upset that another Sim was in their undies walking around the house though!

These dates are also affecting over events in the household.  Like the Great Chicken War.  The little shit robot stole the chicken statue AGAIN.

This whole week has been very frustrating.  The servo is being a jerk, fighting and stealing chickens.  Shawn doesn't want to get married.  Still no jobs in the Medical career.  And to beat all, Shawn got the action to go steal back the chicken later but it was just before his date with Noelle ended.  The date ending cancelled out the chicken retrieval.  Now that robot has our chicken!

So Kayla has been wanting to quit her job as a Mad Scientist and be an artist full-time.  DO IT, GIRL.  Something good should come of this week.

Meanwhile..... out on the front porch.....

I need to just look at some puppies now.  Where is Yang?  Bless his heart, ya'll need to get you a schnoodle.  Just the sweetest dogs!

Thank you, Yang.  I feel calmer.  I'm not dealing with this robot's nonsense anymore and I'm not waiting on Shawn to get his act together anymore.  Let's get things moving.

Obviously, Noelle said yes.  She's been waiting on this all fall.  Maybe longer!  It's Thursday.  I kept Yardley home from work.  I gathered the family.  I spent two Sim hours getting the family into a casual group to go to the chapel.  We arrive at the chapel with a third of the group.  This game is killing me.

I send them back home.  I survey the backyard but I'm just not feeling the backyard wedding here.  So I gather the family back up again.  Get them into a group.  And off we go to the chapel.  And failed again.  Everyone arrived in tact but half of them immediately left.

I surrender.  There will be no babies this week.  Wedding first.  Babies second.  It's a wedding dress issue for me.  I want the pretty pictures!

But we did get a bit of good news after midnight Thursday (now Friday morning).

Pardon me, but Jesus Hallelujah.  We get a point in the positive column.  Shawn even gets to go to work for one day.  And he comes home Friday with a promotion!

I'm almost feeling happy again.  You know what this week needs?  A party.  A birthday party.  Let's get 'er done, Yardley!

(Yamaris & Pearly)

(Yamaris, Ceera, Pearly, Zakki, Kayla, Brandon)

(You can fit a LOT of Pandas in this kitchen!)

(Deb's had enough)

("We're going to have a bonfire tonight, too")

And last picture of the birthday fun, Yardley all fixed up as an elder.  He's still a handsome, charming Sim.

Alright.  Saturday morning.  No one has to work.  It's wedding bells time.  We're going to get this done, whether Shawn wants to or not.  I let him go on a hike while the other Sims did their morning routines, mostly to get him out of the way.  But oh ho ho, Shawn is really, REALLY, testing my patience this week.

I know I cuss a lot, but I try to keep this blog clean.  I've already failed on this entry.  Several times.  So I'm going for the gold here.  "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, SHAWN?"  It's your wedding day, it's the end of fall, and you got a SUNBURN?

Now I have to tear Yardley away from what he was doing and have him stock some lemons in the juicer because of all the produce Shawn has in his inventory.... he has NO lemons.  Of course.  OF COURSE.  Yardley to the rescue though, and Shawn gets his lemonade and cools down.

Now.  This time.  Everyone goes down to the chapel.  I use the teleporter to pop in all the family.  Then immediately send Shawn to the arch.  At this point, if anyone wants to leave they are welcome to do so.  Except for Shawn and Noelle.  They have to stay.

For the rest of us, we have a ceremony to attend.

(Ceera, Kayla, Pearly)
(I don't know why Pearly isn't in her formalwear)

(Yeva, Brandon, Yvonne, Yardley)

(Wedding crasher townie Gwyneth, Yvette)

(Vamaris, Caden behind her)

(Dance Competition!)

(another wedding crasher; Bobbi Wetninja!)

So a few of the family did leave before the ceremony.  Notably Shawn's Aunt Yamaris and her husband Fletcher.  I tried to port them back in but they left again.  Fletcher later came back on his own right as I was sending the household back home.  I might strangle him when I play his house again.

Noelle hadn't moved into the house yet until the wedding, so I had the household set up as a group to go to the chapel.  Apparently, they had a great time together.

As soon as she got married, Noelle immediately wanted a baby.  What a good family sim.  Shawn no longer gets an opinion this week on anything, and I think all of the weddings are DONE for this week, so why not.  Be pregnant between seasons.

It worked!  Baby in the oven!

Let me introduce Noelle officially here.  She's a Pisces, a family Sim, and she likes arts & crafts.  She is 4 messy, 4 shy, 10 active, 7 playful, and 10 nice.  Shawn got himself a good one, in my opinion!  She's currently a paramedic and even though for some reason previously I had the want for a law enforcement job locked...... she has no interest in that.  Her LTW is to have 6 grandchildren.

Since Kayla is into the pottery and painting, I got Noelle a sewing table.

Oh, yeah.  She has a new hairstyle.  She woke up after consummating her marriage with no hair.  Calm down, Brittney.

Even with the birthday party and wedding, they still held their Sunday family dinner.  I brought the family over slowly through the day so it was more of a graze and eat-when-you-want set up.  Noelle had to be fed often anyway.

And SURPRISE!!!  Baby bump!  We should see this lil simboo on Tuesday night next week!

In other news... I'm noticing that Vincent, my sweet, sweet Vincent, is way too comfortable with having extended family members in the bathroom with him.  Kayla was giving Yang a bath and he walked in, sat down, and opened up a news paper.  She threatened to post a picture on social media.

As way of apology, I suppose, he went outside and started raking.  I love when guests just start raking all of their own free will.  Thanks, buddy!

And that's the end of fall at Yardley's house.  Finit.  Done.  GOOD NIGHT!

Thank ya'll for reading!
