TS2 - Legacy Cove - Week 25
Archer House
The winter season has begun in Legacy Cove. We start with the core Legacy household and there's so many ups and downs you'll indeed feel like you are on a rollercoaster. So get you a snack and a drink, buckle up, and I'm going to jump right on in. Resident review first.
We've got quite the full house here. To sum it up, there's Generation 3 Zack & wife Toots. Their son Zavoy and his wife Laken. Along with Gen 5 Zaryn and 4 schnoodles. WHEW!!!
We've also got a few robots to help us along. Like the sentry bot. Which zapped my newspaper-thieving sister.
Monday started off upbeat, with Laken coming home with a promotion! Studio Musician, sounds fancy!
Like any respectable Romance sim, she wanted to celebrate with some fireworks under the sheets. This seems very unsafe, Laken!
Oh, and I forgot to introduce a few more residents... but they have no problem introducing themselves. Or making Isaac literally piss himself.
Yeah, he went home. Probably to shower. I'm pretty sure it was Antoinette, who was such a lovely Sim before she died. Now I cringe when I see her.
I digress. Tuesday, Toots headed over to her bar to check on her regulars who haven't seen her lately due to the pandemic that I shall begin calling... The Summertime Sadness. It lasted into the fall but I like it. Anyhoo, the Legacy was really hopping!
(My nephew... that better be juice, Sir!)
(That's Pearly, Renee, and Percival Jacquet)
Meanwhile... back at the ranch......
I TOLD LAKEN THE FIREWORKS WERE NOT SAFE!
It's also not safe to try to steal our newspaper and seeing how Isaac is an in-law to this family and he has his OWN sentry bot at his house courtesy of his in-laws, you'd think he'd not try to steal our paper. But yet, here he is...
Laken is being fairly easy to manage again while pregnant. Even better, did you count the number of residents in the re-introduction? 5 Sims, 4 dogs... she can only have a single birth. No twins!
And thankfully Zachariah just wanted to make sure his bed is still as he left it, because otherwise those dreams she's having would sure be ironic!
Sadly, the next morning, we had a huge loss.
I want to be very clear on this. Amos is Toots' dog. Their relationship score is at it's peak. But she walked away. And got in the hot tub.
Man, the howling from the other dogs. It gets me. Right in the feels. But along with Toots, the rest of the household really didn't seem strongly affected.
Ya'll Sims wound me on this. I'm judging, with utter disdain. Sigh.
But the rollercoaster went down and now it must go back up. It's party time!
It's been SO LONG since there's been a child Sim in my game and I'm excited! I can't wait to see how she ages! And I'm so nervous; Do I even remember how to play the kids? Ah! Let's just roll the picture spam!
And yes, that sure is Laken's second bump there at the end! New baby in 25 hours!
I just want to add in a comment here on Toots. She's one of the most amusing elders I've ever played. She just wanders off all the time. Seems oblivious to what's going on around her pretty much every moment of her day. She really has no responsibilities and is free to do what she wants, but she sometimes likes to follow Zack around. Who is also pretty aimless. Or she's just laying down on the bed, lounging on the couch, sitting at the kitchen table. Doing absolutely nothing. She one hundred percent reminds me of the scatterbrain elderly bordering on dementia/Alzheimer's. I pretend she's half-deaf, also.
She's VERY convincing on that!
Zack on the other hand has really stepped up into the grandfather role. Especially now that Zaryn is a kid, he really seems to be like, "Hey, this is more my speed!"
Okay, let me get Zaryn cleaned up and changed into some better clothes.
She's totally cute! And I don't know that I've ever had a Sim with eyebrows like that. Her nose though... I am not sure where she inherited that nose...
But I figured it out while I was trying different hairstyles on her. Her great-grandmother Felicity back in Legacyville! (Felicity -> Lacey -> Laken -> Zaryn). I can't describe how much this delights me!
Zaryn is a good kiddo. She cleans up her plates after eating and she wants to be an A+ student. She hangs around with other good kiddos like my niece Kylie.
She came home a bit hungry, and maybe that's why Zinc 2.0 made sandwiches? Since I moved the servos out of the houses I don't think they've made a meal unless influenced to do so. Curiouser and curiouser...
Do you hear screaming? Oh snap, what time is it!?
Toots was downstairs in the kitchen with me, how did she beat me up here?? And you are telling me..... You are telling me she didn't hear Laken giving birth to Zaryn behind her in the kitchen last week but she heard her all the way upstairs? .. She must have put new batteries in her hearing aid.
Welcome to the neighborhood, little guy! I'm super happy to introduce Zavoy and Laken's son, Zyler! He arrived on Thursday evening at 8:39pm. He has momma's eyes!!! Congratulations to the Archer family!
But Laken said, "I'm just going to put this right here on the floor..... "
Totally understand, it must be so embarrassing to have everyone that just watch you spin out a baby have an unmade bed. Sims, man. Sims.
Then she heart-farts all over Zavoy while Grandpa Zack takes care of the nooboo.
But you know how the saying goes about being so overprotective and extra with your firstborn but then you let your second child eat dirt?
Yeah, this baby gets laid on the ground a lot.
Amaris is not helping.
Toots is more hands-on with Zyler than she was with Zaryn. It's really nice to see.
She's getting the hang of this Grandma thing. And she's also got her max enthusiasm back for her Music and Dance hobby!
Zaryn meanwhile woke up the next day SUPER excited about snow, but it's Saturday so she didn't have school anyway. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. Sure, kiddo, it's a snow day! Yahoo!
She had already lit up for fitness as a toddler, but I let her go jogging Saturday morning with her dad. And viola, we now have confirmation!
Saturday evening, the family was visiting. Walter does NOT miss a feeding. Boy, oh boy, does that guy like to give babies their bottles. Aunt Zakki is a good tucker-in and soother. I think she's excited that her son Rocco will have two cousins in his age group to play with!
Or maybe Walter and Zakki think the baby will protect them from the evil spirits of the house...
I have to keep having a Sim send their guests home early with the "Say Goodbye to All". It also sends the ghosts back to their tombstones. Too many puddles of blue pee all over the place!
Laken went back to work Saturday night and returned at 3am with another promotion! Nice!
This family really is great with the kids, and with the exception of Julie not a family Sim in sight. Honestly, even WITH Julie. She hid in the hot tub most of the weekend.
And wait, that's not all! It's Sunday but we have yet another birthday! I'm excited to get to see Zyler as a toddler before it's time to move on to the next household!
Zyler's is the one with the White Walkers in the background)
And now, chaos ensues. Toots did INDEED not look so good!
She was only 76 years old. Toots Savoy Archer, Matriarch of Legacy Cove, owner of The Legacy bar, passed away on Week 25, Sunday evening at home. She leaves behind her children Zakki Wolosenko and Zavoy Archer, son-in-law Isaac Wolosenko, daughter-in-law Laken Archer. And grandchildren Zaryn & Zyler Archer, and Rocco Wolosenko. She also leaves behind her dog, Acapella, and around 30 close friends.
I had to pause the game for a bit. Chaos. Everyone crying, the toddler wet himself, and emotions are just HIGH.
Whew, I had my breather then came back and did what I could to de-escalate everyone. While they still cry between plates of gelatin, let me introduce Zyler.
Zyler is a Cancer sign, his stats are 9 neat - ZERO outgoing - 10 active - 8 playful - 8 nice. I've only once before had a sim with zero in the shy/outgoing traits and it's a challenge. I have no idea what his hobby is, but he's played around with some of the toys and not lit up for anything yet. The other Cancers in the neighborhood are tinkerers or sports fans. So might have to wait until childhood to find out. He's got the same eyebrows as Zaryn but a different nose, as far as I can tell right now anyway.
SO! Are we all emotionally exhausted after this week? I am, for sure! But I did see Toots' life bar going down and made some last minute preparations.
Zack did two of these paintings. This is the second. He gave the first one to their daughter Zakki. And this one is for his twin sister Zoey.
I adjusted the picture quality to high, but it's reverted back. So maybe I need to check it each time I load into the neighborhood. But I'm really disappointed that these in-game pics don't show the detail of his paintings. They are really beautiful.
But on this lovely note, I will bid you all goodnight. Santa might be coming and these Sims are tired.
Happy Simming and thanks for reading!
Carissa
